1101

No, this isn't my 1101st blog. It's the number of comics I currently own (my comicbookdb says so). This is actually my first blog on comicvine, and I'm not sure what to do here. Just kinda rambling and I think I'll continue to do that. Anyway, I feel like I reached a milestone in my collection with my 1100th comic. I felt like I had to blog about it because it's a comic I got interested in thanks to this site: X-Men 2099 #1. I found it in some store in Columbus (also picked up Batman #489 and Glory/Avengelyne), and I was thoroughly pleased to find out it's my 1100th comic. I gotta say I enjoyed reading it. I wanted to have the rest of it right there. Now, I know it's not good, but the '90s is my favorite era of comics (yes, that's the time I was a kid and learned about comics) and I couldn't help but have fun. It was just so...1993. Also, the X-Men have always held a special place in my heart (right next to Batman), so that probably had something to do with it. Haven't read the Batman issue I picked up yet, but the the Glory/Avengelyne was read shortly after X-Men 2099 was. And I gotta say once again, I enjoyed reading it. It was so...Liefeld. Impossible (even for comics) looking women, itsy-bitsy feet, and it was just bad. Avengelyne even kisses Glory at the end--for teh lulz! Yep, my $5 (that includes all three comics) was well spent. Now, I just have to get the rest of X-Men 2099 and Godyssey (Jesus fights the Greek pantheon in this one!). Until then (even though no one will ever read this), stay classy, San Diego.
