Bio (Under Construction)
Sarkuva is the only child of Alignak and Artume Thera, and because of that has been pressured in life to be the best at everything she does, which she has been succeeding with so far in life. Sarkuva is part of House Thera who's motto is "The Tide is Rising", this is a constant reminder that life is always shifting and being changed by 'The Tide', for better or worse. She excelled in her academics and was triumphant in athletics and is popular among the young people of Cynrathuan Empire. Because of this she was graciously accepted for The Rite of Illumination at the age of 15 and that is when her new life as an Illuminated.
When she first developed her abilities they were limited to Water-Wielding, a power that was widely respected among the Cynrathuan Empire because of their adaptability and versatility. While she struggled against it, she was pressured to join the ‘Healing House’ and learned to use her Water-Wielding to heal people. But as she developed her Water-Wielding, she began to find that she was also able to Wield other elements that included fire, earth and air. It was when she turned 18 that her Uncle, Recima, influenced her to join the Cynrathuan military, but not without hesitation from her parents. As a negotiation, she was allowed to join under the agreement she would join as a healer, which Sarkuva quickly agreed to, and didn’t let the duties of being a healer stop her from taking in the action. Since she is still young and part of the royal family, she has yet to see actual combat, but is fully trained just like any other solider.
Her uniform is the Thera House armor which consists of blue and white
Illumination
Hekau are the powers gained by Cynrathians in the Rite of Illumination, in which one breathes in vapors created from Tahenium Crystals. This is a somewhat painful (if only for a few moments) process which only beings with strong regenerative capabilities, such as the Cynrathim, can survive. It links one's spirit to the Aether (a universe-spanning energy field, and one section of the Universal Orb). The powers gained in Illumination usually follow a pattern, as described:
Tonal, Animal Spirit Companion
Illuminateds manifest their subconscious minds into a visible, semi-corporeal shape outside the body, in the form of an animal. One's animal spirit is usually manifested at will, or during Psionization.
The preferred animal spirit form is usually decided by a combination of the host's characteristics/attributes (or their characteristics/attributes as perceived by others) and what the present culture tends to associate with those characteristics. Thus, one's animal spirit form will often assume the shape of the animal your culture associates with your personality.
An animal spirit is typically easy to distinguish from a physical animal, by virtue of animal spirits often having a glowing aura, and not being bound by gravity.
Sarkuva’s Spirit Animal is that of an Arctic Wolf named Converra (CON-VEE-RAH) who represents: Teaching, Resistance to change, Stamina, Resilience, Wisdom and Determination. She appears as a semi-corporeal arctic wolf with an electric blue soft glow around her and her eyes give off a snow white glow.
RESISTANCE TO CHANGE
Arctic Wolf lives in a land frozen in time where, for three quarters of the year, frigid winds blow across the tundra, creating landscapes of sculpted ice. Here, all life holds its breath while awaiting longer days that will bring the sun to gently bathe all in it's golden light, coaxing the emergence of new life to dance for awhile in its brilliant rays. Walking across these bridges and valleys of glimmering snow, the Arctic Wolf, thick white coat ruffled in the frosty breath of the Northern wind, is in a state of contented Oneness with his surroundings.
The Arctic Wolf is the Wolf of the North Winds. He stands quietly in rigid determination, unyielding at times, much as the barren landscapes of his home appear to resist the beginning of Spring. She is a soul that is comfortable with her surroundings and therefore sees no "reason" to change.
Yet the promise of the North Wind is Wisdom unfolding through gratitude and acknowledgment. This is the Direction in which Wisdom is sifted from the sands of experience and then fashioned into a Red staff of Manifesting that wields personal potential. Therefore, if White Wolf Soul can accept change when it appears, yet remain true to his/her values, then the higher vibration of Wisdom and Truth can emerge from beneath stubborn resistance like shoots of sweet summer grass bursting forth from a blanket of winter’s snow. Thus, Personal Power can be embraced, understood and ultimately, the soul’s individual potential manifested.
RESILIENCE
In a climate in which very little life can exist, Arctic Wolf thrives. Drifts of snow gather in intricate patterns and shapes, castles of frozen snow glittering in the brilliant light. Wind, cold enough to freeze exposed flesh, passes nearly unnoticed by Arctic Wolf as he roams the blinding white expanse of his territory, thick white fur keeping him well insulated . . . Mother Earth has prepared him well.
The individual with Arctic Wolf as their Power Totem is one who is capable of withstanding numerous challenges and setbacks, only to emerge stronger than before. It is little wonder that these souls will often face adversity in their lives in order to build the resilience with which to overcome obstacles? Paradoxically, they are also gentle souls with a great deal of emotional sensitivity . . . and this is the area in which they are likely to encounter their greatest lessons. Yet by calling upon the inner strength and resilience of the Arctic Wolf, they can triumph and raise their heads with gratitude to the loving rays of the Sun.
STAMINA
The Arctic lands stretch for miles, blinding white expanses that demand respect of all who dwell there. Upon this vista of pristine white, the Arctic Wolf roams his territory in search of food, a mate or any encroaching threat and will travel up to twenty miles a day, or more, to perform his tasks.
To withstand the harshness of the unrelenting winds, the brutality of an unforgiving and bitterly cold climate, and to do this while traversing many miles, the Arctic Wolf has been engineered with tremendous stamina to fulfill her role in Nature.
Arctic Wolf soul is an individual who is capable of performing nearly miraculous bouts of stamina that would weary other souls as she travels the good Red Road.
He possesses within him the ability to push his body and mind to the limits, and in fact, can appear to even derive pleasure from doing so.
With each new goal that has been met, Arctic Wolf individual will then set his/her sights on the next task at hand. Preferably the new goal will be even more challenging than the one just completed, as this engenders the acknowledgment within their own reasoning that they are worthy of that which has been given to them, yet the truth of the matter is that anything they have received, has been honestly won.
Hekau
Another effect of Illumination is that the person will gain one or a number of powers, called 'Hekau'. These powers and abilities may vary, towards the beginning there is rarely much rhyme or reason to it (although as they age, an Illuminated's powers may be molded according to others' beliefs or cultural associations, not unlike the Tonals as described above). Common Hekau center around the psionic manipulation of elements like light, water, earth, fire, magnetism, etc.
Few Hekau directly alter the appearance of a person; Illuminateds, when not Psionized (actively manifesting their Hekau or Animal Spirits), tend to be indistinguishable from those who do not share their power.
Elemental-Wielding
Sarkuva's Hekau consists of the ability to control the elements, in the first year Sarkuva was only able to control the element water and then one by one developed the abilities of other elements; fire, earth and air. More recently her abilities have stretched out to electricity and metal control though these two forms are still weak and Sarkuva has a difficult time controlling these two elements. It is not unusual for someone to have more than one power after going through the Illumination process but to have developed four abilities that are able to break off into other sets of Hekau is very rare and usually seen as a sign that the individual is desisted for greatness. Sarkuva has trained with many fellow Illuminateds who have specialized under a single element, making her a Master of the Elements. Even though she is able to use the four elements at any time, she prefers to Water-Wield and specializes in healing.
Air-Wielding
Air-Wielding concentrates on speed and evasion, forgoing a strong offense for a greater defense. Though apparently lacking fatal finishing moves, it is the most dynamic of all the elements. As the element of freedom, air-wielding use their capability to bend unencumbered by the ground or any other environmental factors and use their own momentum as a weapon, evading attacks with astounding agility to tire their opponents out or building up massive inertia for explosive gusts of wind to make their counterattacks finishing moves. When resorting to physical confrontation, Air-Wielders able to harness the immense and intangible power of wind. Air-Wielding opposite is Earth-Wielding and the confrontational style that serves as its foundation.
Water-Wielding
It is not only the most versatile element, but also one of the more unique wielding arts. Similar to their element, water-wielders are extremely adaptable and versatile. Water-Wielding concentrates on the flow of energy and focuses less on strength and more on turning the opponent's own energy against them. While a wielders victory in battle depends on their skill or ingenuity, water-wielders, unlike other wielders, gain a serious advantage or disadvantage depending on the amount of water around them, although highly skilled water-wielders can draw water from anywhere; they can draw humidity from the air and wield the water in living things, especially plants. As the element of change, water-wielders can fluidly and quickly alternate from defense to offense, from a wall of ice to a jet of water, turning their opponent's strength against them. The opposite of water-welding is fire-wielding, with its relatively stagnant, direct philosophy. Due to its lunar sympathy, water-wielding is stronger at night and ineffective during a lunar eclipse. However, to counter water-Wielding ineffectiveness during a lunar eclipse, water-Wielders gain immense power during the peak of the full moon. The sub-skills for water-wielding are healing and blood-wielding.
Earth-Wielding
Earth-Wielding demands a special connection with the earth that is achievable with neutral jing, listening, though seemingly doing nothing, and waiting for the right moment to strike.Like water-wielders, Earth-Wielding gain an advantage or disadvantage in battle based on the amount of earth around them, though the conditions are not as extreme. Because of their element's stability and its stress on neutral jing, Earth-Wielding stand their ground, absorbing or intercepting attacks until they completely overwhelm their opponents. Unlike the other Wielding arts,Earth-Wielding strength equally lies in both offense and defense. Earth-Wielding is in stark contrast to air-wielding as air-wielding emphasis is on evasion and mobility while earth-wielding emphasis is on fortitude and strength. The sub-skills for Earth-Wielding are seismic sense, metal-wielding, and lava-wielding.
Fire-Wielding
Fire-Wielding is the most aggressive Wielding art. Unlike other Wielders who depend on external sources of their elements to wield, Fire-Wielders can create fire using their internal heat source in addition to controlling already existent flames. As the element of power, Fire-Wielders have to be able to maintain a constant source of energy and balance in battle, unleashing a volley of direct, successive attacks. Fire-Wielders relatively simple and direct style contrasts the complex and changing style of Fire-Wielding. Due to its solar affinity, Fire-Wielding is stronger during the day and at its full power at noon, but completely ineffective during a solar eclipse. For a long time, disciplines of Fire-Wielding were taught to be fueled by hatred, as opposed to the original source. Skilled Fire-Wielders are able to fly using powerful jets of flames. The sub-skills for Fire-Wielding are combustion-wielding,generating and redirecting lightning.
Abilities
Hand to hand combat- Sarkuva has mastered several forms of Cynrathim martial arts, most of them being linked to her Elemental-Wielding abilities.
