Good Female Leads to Read

I noticed lately that DC Comics has some good titles that have a strong female as a main character like Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Batwoman for example. Recently Marvel has cancelled a number of series. One of them that surprised me was X-23's title being cancelled and that her title was the only title that had a female as a lead.

Recently, Marvel has announced that Ms. Marvel would be Captain Marvel and be getting her own title. So I was wondering what other titles that have a good female as a lead. Like is Ms. Marvel's title good or not?

Brian Reed's 50 issue run of Ms. Marvel is fantastic. It documents her return to the spotlight (in the Marvel-verse), through Civil War, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign and eventually the Heroic Age. I highly recommend it, especially the later issues when Sana Takeda jumps on-board (around Dark Reign) - her art is bliss.

@RainEffect: Seconded. I loved the prior Ms. Marvel series. Despite owning physical copies, I'm thinking of buying it all on digital as well just to doubly support it.

Having said that, I won't be touching Captain Marvel. They're taking everything great about the character and going backwards. Ms. Marvel is an independent character with a unique costume. She doesn't need to become yet another Captain Marvel.

Batwoman
Birds of prey
Wonder woman
Batgirl
And of course "World's Finest" is coming out in the second wave of the New 52

I'm enjoying Batgirl and Supergirl at the moment. Gail Simone's run on Birds of Prey is also a good read + most of that run is now available in TPB format

Current stuff?

Demon Knights is essentially driven by it's female characters, despite Etrigan being the 'poster boy'
Supergirl is solid stuff too, great art
Wonder Woman, you already mentioned
Glory seems interesting, I wasn't too fond of #1 but I recommend giving it a go anyway

Currently? If not Tank Girl.
Current that hasn't been mentioned: iZombie.

Birds Of Prey is the only title that jumps to mind.

X-Men Worlds Apart with Storm leading. worth buying and worth reading. It's just a four issue minie series though

Batwoman is one of the best female leads out there. Ms. Marvel is also great.

I'm hearing some good things about Batwoman and have been meaning to start reading it. Should I go with pre-Flashpoint Batwoman or the nu52?

@daedalus25: Pre-Flashpoint, Batwoman had a lead in Detective Comics which was collected in Batwoman: Elegy, and I think it did well enough for her to get her own title.

Spider-girl (Mayday) was a good series with a female lead. It was actually the longest running series for Marvel with a female lead
