A Lesson In Alchemy

“Alchemy is a remarkable skill set that very few know of and even fewer outside of the eighth content know of it. It is a metaphysical art that many see as being science. The true splendor of the practice however is something else entirely. Rather it is a science that makes things like magic seam entirely possible. By understanding the components of ones surroundings and the components of a desired outcome events can be forced to happen. Using things like chemistry biology and so on one can turn flesh into steel or cause granite to explode violently. Alchemy is essentially taking A and B and altering it to become C and D to get a desired effect. One of the crucial elements however is that it be cohesive and equivalent. This is called equivalent exchange. One could not make say a ten pound rock into a thirty pound cannon. Generally as well elements are altered to a similar element. It is easier to turn water into oil then wood into wine. That’s not to say it can’t be done just that the process is harder to bring about. It’s a bit of a mystery how a human body turns lead into gold, however many speculate it is a energy in ones self.”

“Practitioners of alchemy is as previously stated and as such few records exist of known alchemists. One however that I discovered documented on was Salem Luna Hexonna. Theorists speculate that she came from the eight content. What is known for sure however is that Salem’s first documented appearance was in Egypt during early years of pyramids beginning to be constructed. If the old and scarce history put into the Egyptian’s particular image centered writing is anything to go by, Salem’s history is something like this. She appeared during one of the conflicts and offered her talents to whichever side paid more. For some time this seems to have gone on up to the point a pyramid was made in her name. Buried beneath the sands of the desert is where I found these hieroglyphics and proceeded to try and learn of the woman’s origins. I would come to find however that her sarcophagus was not within the structure, which brings us to the second chapter of Hexonna’s life.”

“During the later years of the sixteen hundreds witchcraft seemed to grow. Old journal notes of numerous witches that were in fact executed are where I found out what happened. Wishing for further aid in what many presume to be occult or satanic experiments and rituals a few witches attempted to bring Hexonna to life. Indeed they were successful and the alchemist attempted to share her knowledge. The findings however suggest that eventually there was a schism between teacher and students. Salem seeing the witches as magicians and not alchemists made little effort to help during the Salem Witch Trials. Hexonna also would not oppose the accusations at all. This has led me to conclude that she had already planed to be revived at another date. And that brings us to the now.”

“Before me is the container that houses the alchemists body, I can see clearly an in-depth web of alchemic symbology. Suggesting from that fact alone that Hex has prepared to make her resurrection indeed a possibility. When I uncovered the tomb this coffin was in I had found a diary telling of what was need to make the revival a possibility. I have ended the lives of three thousand loyal and willing members of the covenant, their blood and souls have made for three philosopher stones. These red stones will function for the hearts of the alchemists return. Alchemy was not designed as a way to return life though it has the capacity to do so. As such findings inform me the legendary alchemist will return in three bodies, thus why the stones are in piles of the elements that make up the human body.”

“Should this go wrong and these are the last words I write I feel I should say a few final words. My name is Evie I am Hexcraft the spearhead of the Hexcroft tier of the Covenant. My research has been done in Lady Coven’s wishes and honor. And pass or fail it has been the most rewarding endeavor anyone could dream of to have pursued this knowledge.” With that the pale figure of death knelt down to the coffin and began forcing the process to commence. The room became flooded with crimson arcs of lightning. Container of the prestigious alchemist began to fall apart as did the mummified body within. The thick putrid smell of burning flesh and fabric began to fill the air. Then came the roaring trio of screams, three blackened figures jolting upwards with arched backs. Slowly a trinity of scorched moving bone became decayed muscle. This would proceed to bruised and battered flesh. Flesh would then begin to develop clothing and even weapons. Until finally three figures stood before Hexcraft.

One looked much like herself which in-sighted curiosity in the woman. However the look alike had no emotions at all it seamed, it was as if she was but a cold calculating mind.

Then there was the woman who had a most alluring build. This made Evie’s hair stand on end. Whoever this woman was, had more confidence then some of even the most dominant people around.

Lastly came a rather ordinary man who looked extremely old though obviously in good condition. Beneath that exterior however Evie could tell was a monster.

That’s when it registered within the alchemy students mind, these three people were the mind body and spirit of the pharaoh alchemist. And looking at them now for what they were she understood her mistake intuitively. This woman wasn’t a leader, or a teacher, or a accomplice. She existed clearly only for herself, the trio wished to become one again and become a goddess in the process. Hexcraft had unleashed a terror on the world and now there was nothing she could do to reverse it. Hexonna would walk up to Evie and touch her head gingerly. Electricity would flood the room to a point one could taste in the air. The resurrection inducing Covenant member had been made into a fashion statement. Though still conscious and aware Hexcraft was no more then a necklace on Salem. Exiting the room the group would begin their search. The goal being to find a place perfect to create a true philosopher stone. One that would permit Salem Luna Hexonna to be more then a artificial human also known as a homunculus, and more then a human, but rather a being who could make anything happen with just the slightest movement of a appendage.

(It aint my finest work but I enjoyed it and more importantly finally got her made so I'm happy."
