It got to -13 Fahrenheit last night where I live, which equals to -25 .C, The coldest its been while I've lived here (Mass) was -22 degrees Fahrenheit, during the daytime that is, which equals to -30 .C, didn't keep track of how low the temperature went down the night before. Plus I was in eighth grade and that was about ten or eleven years ago now.

Just silly headline-attracting fun. While yes, at one moment in time Winnipeg's temperature was colder than Mars, you need to bear in mind the climate in Mars fluctuates wildly from day to night and even the ground to a meter above ground due to the planet's thin atmosphere.

This is more to do with December breaking records with the city in terms of coldness (since the 1930's).

Beautiful city by the way which enjoys some pretty balmy weather in the summer. Winter is always cruel there, unfortunately.
