A Comic Book Geek/Ugly Girl in College.

Last year around this time, I brought my first comic. Now, it took a full month for them to grow on me, but now I'm hooked. Like, skipping meals to get my fix hooked. I love comics, and I love talking about comics. But I have a problem. You see, you can be pretty and antisocial, and people will give you credit as having an artistic bent. However, you have no right to be ugly and antisocial. I am not mean, or cruel. I am just antisocial. And ugly. I do go out, I do try thibgs, but it's so hard to enjoy them alone. I've tried the "How to Act Like a Normal Human Being For Morons" classes, and those just felt like I was play-acting. But honestly, I like myself. I may not how others act towards me, but I do like myself. I do not want to change myself ust so people will assume that I am always like that. Of course, maybe I missed the boat on comics. I know most girls my age don't like them, and that most guys just don't like talking to girls like that. I know it's an expensive hobby. I've tried expanding my interests, but we aspies have trouble with that. S.O.S!

132. The reason they had me take the test is because I wasn't doing well my junior year of highschool, I believe we've discussed what was going on then lmao, anyway I got that score and they realized that I just really was not giving a sh!t lol.
 
 
EDIT: If you're talking about those online ones I got a 154 on one but I had to pay to get the specifics of where my highest area's were, and I have no money lol.

ugly is a state of mind that all of you need to get out of your heads. ugly is what makes the OP act like she does when she shouldn't in the first place. 
 
i seen a 300 pound classmate of mine get together with a 140 pound girl at a different school. dude anything is possible

@Rosebunse: Don't worry about people who don't like comics. I used to be worried about what would happen if people at school found out I liked comics, and when everyone eventually found out, they hardly batted an eyelid. Everyone's still okay with it now (provided I don't talk about them too much, :P ). If people can't accept that you like them, then they're not worth the effort.

Not everybody has worked up that level of self-confidence, though. If you hear something from so many people for so long, you start to believe it yourself.

I understand you, I've been there myself. But when I grew a bit older, I realised:  "Why am I getting so upset?" and there's nothing I can do to change how I look, so I embrace it. I'm either: Too fat, too thin, too dark, too light, my hair is whack, I look like a whore, I look like a geek etc ....  People can't win in society, and you shouldn't let them try to make you think your something your not. I'm happy being just a borderline genius. If you have a genius IQ there is more expected of you, borderline one you're able to slack off and you don't have to solve any problems but you still get to be smarter than the average bear. It's a good place to be I think.

I used to have issues with my appearance as well but now I'm a writer (and comic book reviewer). My photo is on display at the site i write for. I had to get comfortable with my appearance and that people would see me. You have to be comfortable with how you look like, because if you don't then why should others care?

I try to keep my college life separate from my comic book life...but I never miss a chance to buy some good stuff, especially when I have someone else doing the shopping for me....
