I guess we needed this explanation and if you are a long time spidey reader like me this story is probably a bit better than if you haven't read it all. I just think this could have been done a lot better had it included a story where Spider-Man saves MJ from some threat and then them sorting their problems out afterwards.
Also, I really hate the way Quesada draws Peter and MJ. They look awful and I guess MJ can't be a model any more looking like that. On the other hand Rivera’s art, where we go back in time, looks really good and I wish he had drawn the whole issue.
I find the storyline hard to follow and it would have been nice with a one page summery in the start so it wasn't necessary the go back and read old issues again.
I thought this issue was one of the better and 4/5 is a pretty fair score.
I was missing something about Superman and the JLA in this issue. All the previous issues have told us about their search for Bruce Wayne but nothing in this issue.
The issue was decent but the pirate issue was much better. 3,5/5
The first part of ASM - One Moment In Time was a decent read but I really hated the way Joe Quesada drew Peter Parker and Mary Jane. It looks like Peter has gained weight and I guess MJ isn't a model any more, the way she is drawn here. Their facial expressions also look very strange. This really ruined the issue for me. I hope this is improved in the next part so it isn't the artwork that ruins the whole thing.
