I wish that more comic readers would step outside their comfort zone and pick up comics like Suicide Squad and Resurrection Man.
I have been enjoying both runs so far. I cannot wait to read this crossover.
I agree here and I'd like to say that i very much enjoy that we're getting new artists on both books. Saiz's art is gonna fit well with Resurrection Man while Dagnino's more action-heavy art is gonna be perfect for Suicide Squad.
Showed that superhero movies didn't have to be about flashy costumes and 283917239874938 one-liners it could be a fun yet serious plot driven story can appeal to everyone and slight but understandable changes to appeal to the masses (Instead of web shooters we had them shooting out the wrists)
Batman '89 and to lesser extent Blade had already done that?
@thechessclub: Also, I trust you're reading Sweet Tooth?!
I started reading it after I read Lemire's Superboy run, which was AWESOME! Why didn't they pick him to write Superboy again in the new 52?
Well i heard from a interview by Scott Lobdell that Lemire was suppose to originally stay on Superboy but choose not to (and that led him to go for Animal Man instead). That's why we have Lobdell instead.
@Roldan: Of course i have my own problem with DC but they are none of those things you pick up. My problem is that they're playing too safe. I, Vampire is good example of the things i want to see more. I want to see more indie creators do things like that.
Then I've no doubt Dial H is gonna get your noodle going=P Also, I trust you're reading Sweet Tooth?!
I defiantly don't mind Dial H as long as China keeps going on without delays. And yes I'm reading Sweet Tooth (who isn't?).
@sethysquare: But that's the thing, Seth. The whole idea of the "New 52" was to increase sales by "modernizing" their characters, and it's failing all over the place. Lots of the long-time DC readers left last year, most of the books have been lackluster, and some are being cancelled for books that some fans are already in an uproar about. Look at the seething vitriol people have over Power Girl's costume change. The reason DC dropped the message boards wasn't so they could relocate to Facebook, it was because the voice of distention there was drowning out the voices of the people who're enjoying the new stuff. And it seems DC doesn't want to acknowledge the fact that there are still lots of people who HATE the New 52.
You're taking up things that were bound to happen. Things like cancellation, fanboys groining about new costumes and people hating things. The thing is people were pretty sure when they announced the relaunch that the increased sales would only last 2 to 3 months before Marvel would take over the top 10 again. It's month 8 and it finally took an event for Marvel to finally gain entrance to the top 10. Of course i have my own problem with DC but they are none of those things you pick up. My problem is that they're playing too safe. I, Vampire is good example of the things i want to see more. I want to see more indie creators do things like that.
LOL, it gets worse and worse each passing month! No wonder sales have gone down from over 350k(#1) to about 130k already! DC just retells old stories now in a new awful way!
@DarthShap: There are easy enough answers for each of your questions, but it is clear you don't like this development. I on the other hand think it is pretty interesting.
It is interesting as a story, sure.
But it makes no sense with Diana still being the same compassionate person and it destroys pretty much everything Pre-New 52.
Hippolyta was never treated this badly. Even Amazons Attacks seems in-character by comparison.
Well Diana only found out about this recently. Diana was also called an outsider of the Amazons. So yes, it makes sense that she's more compassionate. This is basically the same thing they did with Diana being born a demigod. She had been told one thing but in reality it was something else. It makes it more interesting and places the Amazons more to their true myth.
