I would say it depends on the writers, i mean when i was small i believe he could breath in space due to the fact that he always goes there to clear his head and in this photo he brings Lois to space, operating under the script that superman has an invisible aura that can protect him in space and those that he holds once he bend his will to it. Furthermore, i have read and watch scenarios where an explanation is given to as why his costume never get torn or pierce during war,gunshots and most battles . One of the main argument was that of the protective aura that surrounds him, is the same aura that give him the ability to be guarded from elements of space,water and from most attacks . This to me simple means that this aura that protects him from any uncontrollable harm such as from just being in space, therefore, his aura would protect him in space, preventing him from suffocating . Some writers say the original superman was way too powerful, up to the point where they could not find any challenge for him so it is obvious that writers have tone his powers way down to a laughable state. Some edition says when Superman is in space he can hold his breath for hours, some say he can breath in space, some says he can't and some says the aura can protect him from suffocation, some says all aliens can breath in space.So i believe that the diversity of the different writers were aimed to suit the different views of the different viewers. i personally like the aura story because to me it make sense, so again it depends on your views of the amazing iconic character. I am a huge fan of superman and so i am planning to write my own version of Superman and make my own adjustments.

is this even a real question Storm of the x-men killed hulk once, Thor snapped his neck and kill him once, and doomsday the life extinguisher will defiantly killed hulk.

you know it is so sad to see people just trying there hardest to rule superman out, writers even reduced the guy powers to a laughable state and yet still they still want to see him dead or beaten fa crying out loud leave superman alone and accept that the guy is the most powerful of all the characters and move on. My word man, it is because he is the best why everyone is coming up with lame debates.

Jeez and one last thing this lame hulk and superman comparison and who would win crap, it is sorta lame now so let me tell You Superman vs Hulk ...ready...fight... and the hulk gets angry as usual then superman uses his freezing breath ..freezes the the green monster and punches the frozen green freak into ice particles, hulk dies right there and then... then superman uses the heat vision vaporize the particles of ice which was once the green monster that serve no purpose but to get angry and the big winner is Superman, there stupid debate ended. i suggest u all be realistic writers have scale down superman powers beyond zero to the point where it is laughable because he was regarded as an unfair character and even after they did he is still great. pehaps you should visit this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfVkyvKgL3M&feature=plcp and that is exactly what would happen.

Galactus is a freak & there is no way Superman can lose to that ugly looking Moran so that is that and end of story. whosoever agree are intelligent but who refuse and not accept my comment are fools. Finally if anyone dear to answer against what i say,object or comment there opinion is a complete intergalactic Moran. so for this comment just read, accept and do not speak against it or else you are a complete intergalactic Moran.

just asking a question hare umm... the comic strip with superman folding is arm and his back faced to us .. ahh does anyone like know the name of the author and the artist of this comic because i like the  work ( the colors are perfect, the art is good, the drawing is unique ) and i would like to view all the edition superman written and drawn by originator of that particular comic strip with superman folding is arm and his back faced to us and green lantern behind him. if any one got the answers let me know by sending me a message

firstly Galactus can not eat Doomsday and if he manage to eat himDoomsday will rip his insides to sherds, however i have one sane solution a radioactive instance neclear kryptonite abominous explosion  can kill him and weakened him every time because he is from krypton and so he shares the same weakness as superman. evidence of this is in Justice League Unlimited Season 2 Episode 3,( Doomsday Sanction  ) an in it  general Wade Eiling   dispatched a kryptonite missile of that origin to the island where both superman and doomsday were fighting in the event that it would destroy them both,  (lastly the weakness he shares that superman does not is  that exteame heat can alter him to weakness once it is originates from a kryptonian (evidence of this was  also present in justice league when superman was at the justice lord level and roasted Doomsday brain or lobotomized Doomsday when he was at his peek and also high levels of radioactive energy beams from krypton can drain him to death. remember to visit http://www.wix.com/rojaychambers/rojayblazaz in 2014. hope to recreate the superman legend and legacy in the future the idea is on youtube more episode will be release in 2014. but u all can check out Rojay Super x
