THANK YOU xerox-kitty and samversionone! For a while there, I thought I had stumbled onto a bizarro Earth with all the Liefeld praise! You'd think with as much $$$ he made in the 90's, he'd get himself a book on anatomy...
Since the colonization will happen on December 22, 2012, it makes sense that a third flick would be done/released that year (though, it falls on a Saturday).
" Overall I remain unimpressed by the shallow story line, weak characterization, cliche female character and less than impressive art work in this book, and I will not be picking up a second issue. "
Methinks someone is still peeved at being called Supawoman. ; )
I wish I could comment on it, because I did preorder it (because i'm such a FAN of Tyrese's...seriously though, i'm a fan of Tone's), but my comic store didn't get it in...
I think my main problem was that this first issue received overwhelming praise. I don't think it was praise that was unwarranted, it was good. But it was not
"easily one of the best single issue comics published this year,"
Like they had stated on another web site. That's all I was trying to get at. All that hype for something that was okay. It wasn't bad, but it didn't leave me wanting more. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, this happens to be mine. "
I know i'm a month behind, but I was intending to read this review and kept skipping over the tab. Well, frankly, this is one of those books that just looks SO GOOD that it really doesn't matter what the story's about. Heck, I just bought the second part and still have no clue. And I don't care - this book is straight up gorgeous.
As for Rucka...well, in the past it seemed like some great writers have doppelgängers writing sub-par books at the same time.
Example: Peter David. Great book? X-Factor. Terrible book? Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Ed Brubaker. Great book? Captain America. Terrible book? Uncanny X-Men.
Maybe Detective is written by Rucka's doppelgänger?
