Reign My Ass 0

Ok we all know about what I like to call the Superman Trilogy. No not the movies. This is the whole marketing scheme of DC to make Supes umm interesting and it's been that way since this. You know the death and the world without and the reign.Well DC let the Superman team to redo Supes with 1 of 4 people being him. So this one is the return no wait Superboy shows up. Apparently he's a clone from Cadmus Labs. Ok most of us probably have read this story because it was "forced on us". Why because  ...

A Passionate Couple For All History 0

Ok this book came out after the historic wedding of Scott and Jean. This also at a time where any book with an X or any character associated with the letter X was selling whether good or bad as hot as pancakes from IHOP. The story starts with Jean saving Scott who fell off a ledge. They are shocked to see each other in different bodies. They are thrust 2000 years into the future. They are about to be attacked by Apocalype's Elite force lead by Ch'vayre. Unknown to them Rachel Summers who has aged...

A Horror-Ible Read 0

I found this little gem helping my grandparents when the came across a big stack of old comics. They needed my help to look through this stack. Without seeing seeing the entire thing there were some good ones and bad ones (an Uncanny X-men #3 no cover) I believe they did ok with what they bought from some guy's widow. This book here contains several short stories like the old EC line-up Tales From The Crypt and the like. All in wonderful black and white. I'm not totally sure if the stories are a...

I picked this up at the May 2011 Motor City Con freebie table they had hundreds of this issue so I picked up 3 the other 2 i gave to friends cause I'm a nice guylike that and a cheap plastic Jonah Hex cup(why not). This story begins with Jonah and James Ronnie arguing over a sqaw not sure what that was about. Jonah and Ronnie fight and we all know who wins. From there Jonah goes to meet a Mr. Joshua Foster about his missing son, of course Jonah tak...

Cosmic history 0

Hey fans, I picked this up Detroit Fanfare last year . They had a hallway filled with take them comics this was indeed one of them.I wasn't sure until I read it if it was a re-telling of the original story or the reprint of the actual story. I was glad it was the reprint.I love comics, I love the history and original stories and if I had the mony for the original I would but I cherish this. It also reminds me of the short lived Superboy Legion cartoon I enjoyed season 1 the second season I don't...

Very ah Mature 0

Ok I've learned of this character years ago so I was curious to see what this was all about. Howard Chaykin is one of those stars from the 80's to me. I finally got a hold of 2 issues from the basement of my local comic book store on Free comic book day.I picked them up because of 2 things 1) they were only a buck apiece and 2) to learn about Reuben Flagg and 3) a week later I was heading to Motor City Con and potential interview and autograph from Mr. Chaykin. I got 1 of the 2 an autoon the Sta...

Could be better 0

In looking at what was free for free comic book day I saw this issue. I had always been interested in Locke and Key the title was mysterious sure could be something good  and might be refreshing. It starts with Dodge in the Keyhouse I believe wanting to find the mysterious black key for a door or room that it defies logic and it could spell of a dark end?.Dodge becomes thru magic a shadow and plagues the 3 Locke children Tyler, Kinsey and Bode.Dodge transforms later into a large demon. Tyler get...

Book used as hype 1

As one of my 3 picks I had already decided on this not because of something called a movie but because Hal Jordan GL of 2814 (boy has that been ingrained in our minds fellow brothers and sisters) is startingto become the most interesting heroe in DCU at this time. This is a re-telling of Hal becoming GL however it focuses on a prophecy that will occur. Abin Sur had a interest and came to earth. In his stupidity he also brought along his killer. Meanwhile poor Hal all he wants to do is fly and no...

What's The Point? 0

This comic was meant for free comic book day. Usually my dealer let's us pick 5 free , this year only 3 . I picked up this one solely on the fact of Thor and Cap having movies and my childhood still revolves around the original heroes I grew up with. OK I have my Thor Mego doll still lol. The story starts out in a dungeon with Merlin a prisoner of Loki's. How or why that came to beI don't know. Loki wants Merlins belt for it's power. Flash forward to world war 2 and Cap and some soldiers are on ...

Byrne's magic run 0

John Byrne has worked on many classic characters. He has worked on of course X-Men, his New Man series and most importantly his re-telling of Superman. This issue starts with The underutilized Phantom Stranger(he needs a cool origin story and series). He is in a grave yard filled with criminals. The soil being littered with these evil men is consumed by their hate and is quite alive itself. The Phantom then tells us the story where Superman is battling a villianess called Arathaza. Somehow Supes i...

More Abe Please 0

Abe Sapien is a charachter I first liked when I saw him in the first Hellboy movie. His character as I know of this has no idea where or who or what he is. He however, loves and is quite intellectual. I picked this up at my local comic shop when it first came out. Story starts out as a guy attacks some weirdos on a boat. He steal as I see it a knife. He then does some ritual that looks like could be in almost any other Hellboy or BPRD book. We then head off to the Bureau and Paranormal Research ...
