She called him.. And in her heart, she needs him. He should save her, yes. But I like your paragraph and I think it works, far as I'm concerned. There's enough of the bad guys out there for the both of you to fight them.
the dream had left her shaken. she kept hearing that mocking laughter in her head, even as she managed to make it through first period. she just wanted to find him and see him. it was all she needed to do. he would make it all better, she was sure of it. the first class of the day ended and as she was walking out of the classroom, across the courtyard there came a huge commotion. students chanting "FIGHT! FIGHT!" in a chorus, others simply yelling. breath hitched in her throat and she took off running across the courtyard, clutching her books "Excuse me! Pardon me, please! Let me through!" her tone was not her typical kind one, as she was in a hurry to find out what was going on. for some reason, fear gripped her heart. it was as though an icy hand covered it and squeezed it, hard. she heard the clang of swords and the cheers and as she stood there, peering around one boy's shoulder. when her eyes settled on what they were all so focused on, tears sprang to her eyes and she gasped "Squall......no! He.. he's fighting!" it was said more to herself than anyone. not a soul turned to her as she murmured under her breath. they were far too enthused by the barbaric display in front of them. she saw the other boy come into view and recognized him from the brush in the Cafeteria. she just shut her eyes and squeezed them, one tear managing to escape and slip down her right cheek, falling soundlessly to the floor. the two fought on and on, her refusing to open her eyes even once. if he was to take an injury, she simply didn't want to know. at last there were massive roars of approval as it appeard to have ended. her blue eyes flew back open and in the matter of moments, her dark hair was the only thing in sight as she turned and rushed back through the crowd, holding in the sobs
she hurried away from the crowd and the gymansium as fast as she could. she pushed through the gates and in her tearful state, realized that she'd found herself in the forest that surrounded the Academy. she stopped running and just stood in one place. her chest heaving as she breathed heavily, fighting off the sobs as well as simply trying to catch her breath "Why would he fight? Why would he do that? He has nothing to prove to anyone. He saved me! I'm here.. because of him! What more would there need be as proof of how incredible he is? I just.. I don't understand!" she walked over to a fallen log and took a seat. as she brushed her dark hair behind her ear, she swallowed softly "There shall BE no happiness for you, Rinoa Heartilly..." the voice just echoed in her head and she gasped and shot up off the log, clutching the rings that hung around her neck tightly in her hand "Get out of my head! It was just a dream! It was all just a dream!" she opened her hand and let Squall's ring and her mother's wedding ring rest in her palm. the way they seemed to entertwine.... it was like they were meant to do just that. it had to have been a sign. despite what the dream said. they were meant to be together, just the way those two rings seemed to merge as one. suddenly, off in the distance she heard the alarm. it was the Garden Academy's alarm! something was wrong! the garbled voice was heard over the PA system, but she was too far to make out what was being said. suddenly, there was this noise from behind her. out of the forest, trees snapping in their wake, walked these massive dragons with Mages following in their wake. her blue eyes widened in shock... and in fear as she began to step back. her boot caught the hem of her duster and she stumbled and fell. as she landed on her backside, she let out a little groan. she left her Blaster Edge back in her room and Angelo was also still there, waiting for her to return. she hadn't heard the whole "Don't go out there alone bit", because if she had, well there'd be no way she'd be out here alone!!! she scrambled to her feet and turned and began running back towards the Academy. suddenly, out of nowhere, she got the urge to grip the rings again. in her mind, she heard him scream for her "SQUALL!!! I need you! Where are you!" with the Dragons bearing down on her, she just kept running.. she had to keep running or this could be the end. it would be the end. the dream would come true
