The first 2 Christopher Reeves movies, and the Animated Series... And the Justice League cartoons...

By that, you can tell I wasn't born when the Chris Reeve movies came out, but they were my initial introduction regardless

It bothered me when I was a kid because they totally dropped the ball on the action. I know it's been a while, but there was really no reason to rehash the first movie

Remember when Maxima was the only other person other than Superman (and I guess Bloodwynd for a little while) that gave Doomsday a beating during the Death of Superman Storyline? That's what really made me like her so much... Everyone else got demolished, but not her

That kind of defeats the purpose of what I'm looking for. I just want to watch him go multiple issues fighting the unstoppable Doomsday, a few issues where Superman is dead and his replacements come, and then he returns and sets everything back to normal... They can do it anyway they want, I just want them to retelling using all the New 52 rules and regulations...

Your idea, although kudos, is the exact opposite of what I want.

Hear me out before you judge.

I'm not saying they should do another big event like it was back in '92. That was a novelty and if they tried to do that again, no one would fall for it.

What I'm talking about is just redoing that story for the New 52. Have Superman and Doomsday go at it (help bring back Doomsday's badassery), have them kill each other... They can skip funeral for a friend, and just have a Reign of the Superman story, which would obviously be vastly different and fresh since they've already introduced the Supermen.

They don't have to pretend it's a big deal, and try to convince anyone that they're going to "really" kill Superman again. I just want them to retell the story using the more contemporary New 52 universe as the backdrop. That simple...

So what do you think?

If you already heard about some kind of inevitable storyline that plans to introduce (or already did introduce) Maxima, stop reading now, and just let me know in a reply. If not, please continue :)

What do you all think about the idea of bringing back Maxima? I always liked the character, she had (at least in the beginning) an interesting character arch.

She starts off as a villain, wants to bang Superman, gets rejected, gets pissed, turns good at some point (IDK when).

Not only would bringing back the character make ME happy, but they even have a perfect setup that they didn't have when they originally introduced her. Superman's dating Wonder Woman.

At the time they introduced her (if I'm not mistaken) Superman only had a crush on Lois, so when he denied her advances, it didn't have any other connotation other than "she's bad, Superman's good, so of course he wouldn't date her PLUS he's suppose to love Lois"... In other words, they were just following his established persona in a very bland and boring way (I mean, why wouldn't he at least get his dick wet, know what I'm sayin)

Now Superman is actually in a relationship, AND he's dating someone almost as powerful as he is. Not only does it set up a nice triangle love story-storyline between the 3, but we're also looking at a potentially EPIC battle between Maxima and Wonder Woman to conclude the story.

It doesn't have to be a big event. I just want that beloved character returned in the more contemporary storyline that is New 52 Superman
