Starting an original comic book script; huge learning curve from writing prose. Not going to lie, it's difficult. Very difficult. Huge respect for comic book writers.

imagine Earth was destroyed and only 6 people survived plus a dog, plus one person from an alternate universe (which is a nice excuse since, well, it's a freaking alternate universe, different things happen)

out of the 6 billion (close to 7), plus the countless species of animals and plants and etc... only 6 people and a dog survived. do you think that would be enough to make the destruction of Earth not that big of a deal?

PS: not to mention that out of those people, there's only two females and they share similar if not identical DNA and are related to one of the males, which accounts for a not very diverse genepool and a cultural background that probably doesn't even account for 0,00001% of all of that planet's history and culture

^This...

@jorgevy: Never said it wasn't a big deal, just not as big as one at the start when there were only 2 survivors from it. Now were up to 8, and who is to say later that more won't show up?

It was kind of the same before the New 52.... Minus H'El and depending on the story Zod's lackeys. There's also Kandor. I doubt anymore will be introduced.

Alduin and Balerion are the two that come to mind immediately, though I'm sure that there are more powerful out there.

who are those two?

Alduin is the world eater from Elder Scrolls V;Skyrim....and Balerion the Black Dread. Aegon Targaryan's dragon.

You could always give impromptu quizzes to anyone talking about it; "I can't remember Yara Greyjoy's name in the books.....what was it again?"

"I don't know."

"You know Nothing!" (...Jon Snow)....

I think the biggest travesty is that Daenerys only gets like 6 minutes an episode, if she's in it at all.

yeah...

thanks

Genuinely a serious suggestion.

@betatesthighlander1: Things don't translate well from the books to TV shows. Even if book fans don't like these changes like the ones you mentioned, they are still necessary whether they like it or not.

you know what wasn't necessary?

the entire show

if you want to do this right, you should probably animate it, and ten is far to small a number of episodes for one book, they should have full seasons

One of the reasons the show is only ten episodes a season is due to budget constraints; have more episodes= less money for each episode. Personally, I prefer to have less episodes with a bigger budget.

their trying to make an epic with nowhere near the budget for an epic, that seems like a poor decision to me

Should you watch Game of Thrones? Yes. 10. Oh, and read the books as well.

have you done both?

Yes

and you see nor problem with the show?

I mean sure, they've changed things, omitted and combined characters e.t.c.- but I understand why they made those changes. It's an adaption of the source material. I have no problem with the show at all.

really? no problem?

but the stuff they did with the Cleganes

or the Baratheons

or the Greyjoys

or Belwas

they destroyed so much, my problem is that they did something they knew they couldn't; if you can't adapt something, you shouldn't adapt it

I see your point...

(As a side note; Belwas isn't exactly an essential character... though he does stick around for a while.)

Whilst I do agree that the books are better. I simply like seeing words put into a visual medium. It's an adaption, it's not going to be entirely faithful, the books have the luxury of being able to include as many characters as they want, with as many plotlines. A series of books as complex as ASOIF would simply never be able to be adapted to a tv/film medium if they were 100% faithful - it's simply too complicated and intricate. IMO I prefer to have an attempt at an adaption than no adaption at all.

I don't know, it just doesn't annoy me- I have a "oh, they didn't make Selmy take on the disguise of Arstan Whitebeard...." *shrugs shoulders* approach to the show. We'll always have the books to fall back on.

Belwas gave spirit to Saenaerys's group, he was entertaining, the show loses that

I would prefer a better attempt at an adaptation

yeah, but this show generates so many peopel who know nothing of George RR Matin's world talking about it so much

I just got my hands on a Batman Adventures #12 comic. I found it at what I view to be a pretty good price. Any other good comics I should be searching for if I want to add to my Harley Quinn collection. I have been working on the New 52 Suicide Squad series.

Try out her solo series, the first trade was "Preludes and Knock, knock jokes", the second trade is being released in June. Or, alternatively try here for details of all the issues. I highly recommend them. Also, you can't go wrong with the original "Mad Love" by Paul Dini.
