If any of you have seen my page, you can assume I am a huge Venom fan. This begs the obvious question, why? Let me count the ways. First things first, everyone can flash back to the time they very first gazed upon their favorite characters. I remember seeing Venom in a Spidey comic Amazing Spider Man to be exact. Its the cover that Erik Larson did with Venom's face on the cover, and in the eyes of the Venom, you see Spidey cowering. This grabbed me and took hold, and it still hasn't let go. Look wise, who can complain? He has that awesome smile, which later turned into a mouth full of sharp teeth and a sinister long tongue. He has that cool white spider that goes from front to back. I love the way he shoots webs as well, he makes it more manly with a bald up fist. Touching on the character himself, he is and probably is still the number one Spidey tormentor. Not only did he have the jump on spider man in almost every exchange but, Spidey has never beaten him. He has tried and with the exception of Scarlet Spider, he has never been truely beaten by Spidey. Plus I have never seen worse butt kickings than when Venom was handing them out to spider man. Mark Bagley has always captured him the best and my Favorite issue he was ever in was Amazing Spider Man #375. BEST COMIC EVER!!
