@pperspectiveandreality: That too, it made her a much more relevant character overall.
I agree. This issue was incredible. I just read it about two days ago and I was stunned at how good it was. Very ahead of it's time if you ask me. I daresay I enjoyed this issue better than the first issue of Azzarello's Wonder Woman.
My favourite version of the character, and the probably the best part of the character's run.
@renchamp: Something involving tigers ... sounds interesting. I am sold
@renchamp: I think the cohesion is a common problem though in that era. In those days there was little cohesion anywhere, it was not really until the early 60s that any comics were serialized at all, including super hero comics.
He is tempting disaster with that sausage.
Well Romance Comics are pretty strange by today's standards, but at one point they were what was keeping the medium alive. Many people will say "Comics have a female character (Wonder Woman) that has been continually published for over 70 years" which is true, but her "adventures" at one point were barely different from romance comics. Some romance comics are all right, or at least some of the ones that I have read, just they tend to be better the closer that they are to the modern era. If you are really curious about romance comics and how they relate to the history of comics, you might want to give them another try, or at least check out an archives collection, which tend to put the "better" stories together.
Another point too is that a lot of the later famous superhero story writers and artists got their start in romance.
@sc: Oh yeah she would be a good Rogue too, though in my mind Rogue should be a bit younger. She Hulk would have to be CGI to a degree, just like Bruce Banner, so it could be anybody and the actress would have to match Jennifer Walters more than She Hulk. Maybe Emma Stone? Not sure about Carol Danvers though, it is a role for a younger Angelina Jolie maybe.
@renchamp: Maybe so, I never really liked their shoes either, but I am totally buying both of these.
