Prison Planet for the Pretty

It may not be enough to say that it is it is its own sub genre in the science fiction category, but yesterday I was reading an obscure comic called Tigress Tales, and it contained a similar plot line as a Wonder Woman story line that I like which is also a little underrated.  This was the run in the second volume of Wonder Woman and ran over the issues from 66 to 71.  One of the developments in this story line is that Wonder Woman gets thrown onto a prison planet after being caught is space.  The story from Tigress Tales was different, in that the character was already there but then got captured by some aliens and sent to work in the mines.  As for as science fiction goes the genre has been consistently over the years known to incorporate in recent problems into its own stories.  For instance McCarthyism in the 1950s led to a counter criticism by way of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers.  So it is possible that science fiction tries for a deeper message, but a prison planet for super powered women?  It i worth mentioning that of course science fiction has also had a campy element which was not averse to women being displayed in campy poses or overly sexualized conditions, and one might think of an aspect of bondage in the concept of scantily clad women prisoners.  The thing which struck me though was that it was almost (in a sense) how I would like comics to be shown consistently, as the female characters are shown in tattered rags but so mostly are the male characters and so the setting is one of a form of equality in depiction in the medium that we don't often see, inadvertent though it may be.  It gives me an appreciation though that the prison planet concept is one that could be developed on and one that I might like to see more of.

Hmm thought it was consistent in the way that, as the pic of Diana shows, women are upon capture reduced to wearing an old potato sack while men are normally stripped down to their briefs? (which also seems to be the case of the Tigress Tales?)

@RazzaTazz: But is it a good thing thats it's equal or is it just a tad silly that prisoners don't get regular if worn clothing or are just forced to wear their normal clothes for an extensive amount of time?
