I must be a total freak then to have actually liked this one... =/
I thought the plot was actually pretty straight-forward, despite the twists and turns I found it relatively easy to follow after the brief narrative introduction at the beginning. I'll admit though, I watch a movie more from a technical stand-point than a purely for entertainment view. Still, I'll definitely be getting this one when it comes out... (and FYI: the dancing was PART of her being in the asylum having mind trips. Unless you're changing around the rest of the plot, it was a key point to the entire thing.)
Still, I'm ok with being the one Nerd in the world who really liked this. =)
So worth seeing this movie. I agree it would make an awesome video game, but I thought it was worth seeing it in theaters. Saw it on the IMAX screen which made a huge difference, but it's definitely worth seeing at least once.
Ok, so here's my crooked two cents: With as many times as the Villains murder the Heroes, and as just as many times as the Heroes make their triumphant returns, should we even bother to go into the whole trial thing? I mean, yes, technically, it's still murder, but it only matters the first time because- like someone said already, it's Double Jeopardy, so the second, or third, (or whatever) time they kill their Hero, it doesn't even really matter.
Do the Villains even think of it as 'killing' the Hero? Or is it more like just hitting the pause button for them- gives them a chance to mull things over and regroup their forces. The Villains may act surprised when their Heroes pop back up at the most inconvenient times, but there's definitely a little of that 'Oh Great, again,' mental eye-rolling going on.
I agree! Some really good points came up... I don't see any reason why they shouldn't have the opportunity to make a profit from their own 'identity', but it also goes to say they would have to be careful what kind of merchandising they did, whether it was purely 'item' based or if they did commercials, ads, etc... and had that sort of influence.
Giving half, or even three-quarters to charity would be easy enough, considering they never seem to have all that much to purchase for themselves- rarely eat, usually only have (apparently) one or two different pieces of clothing, blah blah. You get the idea. So yea, I agree that they should be able to register or trademark their logos, etc, and make a profit off of them!
