" It's been said by his creators and current writers that Daken has no sexuality. He uses sex as a weapon or tool to get what he needs, and nothing more. Daken can also control emotions by emitting pheromones, one of his mutant powers.   So yeah...I don't really think he can be classified for any sexual preference. Daken is himself a weapon, more or less... "
OMG are you saying daken is........gasp TRANSEXUAL    jk "
No, I'm saying he's...gasp NOT.

A transexual is someone who is one gender, and then becomes another, usually because they believe they're SUPPOSED to be the opposite of what they were born as. Daken, obviously, doesn't fall into this category.

The Venom symbiote has always had something of a taste for human flesh, but Eddie Brock thought of himself as a hero, and while he was bonded to the symbiote, the two shared more of a partnership. The alien got out of control at least once and manipulated Brock into eating a criminal's brain, but it was later discovered the chemical found in the brain that the symbiote needed could also be found in chocolate. I'm not going to look it up, but I'm pretty sure it's true. Anyway...

Gargan has become more possessed by the symbiote since he aquired it; the alien doesn't care for Mac like it did for Eddie, so it takes advantage of him at any given opportunity and savagely attacks people. This usually happens when Venom is hurt, sending the alien into a rage, as seen when he ate Silver-Spider's arm. Post-"Secret Invasion", Norman had Venom eating Skrulls left-and-right, but I believe Gargan didn't mind that so much, especially when they were disguised as Spider-Man.

So yeah...it's a fairly-new thing they're doing with Venom, but Brock always used to "joke" about eating Spidey's brain, so the joke has just been taken seriously now.

@box turtle: Oh, B.S. they wouldn't! Sure, you'd have people like Spider-Man and Punisher, whose costumes hide their identity and provide maximum protection respectively, but there would naturally be others like Ms. Marvel, who enjoys flaunting a little-bit and being a celebrity, and same with Hercules who's, well...a Greek dude in a toga.

When being selective, as you're doing as well, you have to consider that there's also thousands of Superheros that ARE covered head-to-toe and present themselves in a more uniform/military manner; Iron Man, Captain America, Superman, Batman, The Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Wolverine, Deadpool, etc. etc. etc. And characters such as Spider-Woman, who has a full-body costume but leaves little to the imagination, use their costumes as a distraction against lesser-minded male opponents, thus it becomes functional and serves a purpose. Besides, if you were going to go fight crime in public as someone called "Spider-Woman", you'd BETTER look impressive, or just plain stick to the shadows and night-patrol.

Are there sillies? Of course, there's sillies! It's comic books! Psylocke's "costume" is ludicrous; she's supposed to be a hot-shot ninja assassin who would require full-body protection, nothing revealing and zero bright colors. But since she apparently is really, REALLY proud of her booty, and as a straight male I'm not exactly complaining, perhaps it just means she's confident. *Shrugs* Just keep away from the tentacles, Betsy!

But overall...now that the 90's are behind us and most creators have come to their senses...I'd say Superhero costumes are pretty passable, all things considered. I'm sure in reality, a lot of them would either be closer to the movie-version "X-Men" leather or meta-upgraded such as Bale's "Batman", but in the fantasy land of comic book-ville I believe spandex and outside-underwear is just more tolerated, for whatever reason.

I'd totally be a Booster Gold-type character though, total sell-out. I don't care...I wouldn't expect to die of old age at that point, so might as well enjoy the powers while I'm alive! "

That's what I'm talking about.  Here is what I said, very similar thoughts:  If I were to get actual useful super powers I would help the world out while shamelessly self-promote and benefit from my abilities.  I would essentially be Booster Gold.      "
Awesome. And really, how many ultra-responsible, reserved people do you know that, if they were bestowed super-powers of some kind, would actually go out and fight crime selflessly? Honestly, the only people I know that fit that description are timid, good-natured people that I'm sure would be too scared, powers or otherwise, of dying or getting hurt or hurting someone else to do anything about it.

If the average person become super-powered, they'd either be Booster Gold or otherwise corrupted by the power and end-up having to be taken-down by the Army, or somesuch thing. I've lived long enough and seen enough things throughout my travels, to realize that the general nature of human beings isn't exactly well-meaning and glamorous; good intentions are usually expected to be repaid, no-matter how small a deed. Suddenly becoming the most powerful thing on the planet wouldn't help the ego, either.

Far as I know, Norman just spray-painted an old Iron Man suit and was off flying around before too long; though I wouldn't doubt that since then, he's made appropriate adjustments.

Yeah, I was pretty sure they covered that immediately post-M-Day in issues of "New X-Men". That's why xerox-kitty's around, though...

Yeah, it's true...But there's one huge difference between The Shield and Captain America...

Shield: Who's heard of him outside hardcore comic fans?

Captain America: Mainstream icon, known throughout the world.

So while ol' Stevie Rogers might've been inspired by Shield, one took-off, the other obviously didn't. And if sales are any indication, the new generation isn't ready for The Shield, either.
