I think Steve Rogers is more anachronistic than Bucky, however Bucky's uniform looks like a version of the Shield - the first patriotic hero.
Mine is Frank Frazetta. He illustrated Conan, Vampirella, Tarzan, Jhn Carter of Mars..... He sets the standard.
