Get the Hell outta here with this...This isn't even a contest! Deadpool & Deadpool 2 versions of Colossus are the best ones.

I just hope in his next appearance, they don't sell him short. I like the Gentle Giant/Calm Demeanor & Optimistic Colossus, but they need to make him a force of nature when he fights. Colossus is the one of the Strongest (physically) X-Men. He isn't a push over at all!

Agree! Whenever Colossus shows up in the next movie, he really needs to show what he's made of!

I depends on how much influence the individual comic or run has...if its never brought up again it can generally be ignored.

But with stuff like Morrisons characterization issues its a bit more difficult since a lot of what happened in his run had long lasting impact.

There are also little details that are very easily ignored. O5 Jean and Beast getting together at the end of All-New X-men was basically over in the very next issue

Although, Morrison's run did come out at a time when continuity in the comics was important. Nowadays, it seems like continuity is not that important and lots of events that had happened or small moments in the stories tend to not effect the universe after a few years.

I have a feeling Legion and Deadpool are getting thrown into the trash ( or the latter being watered down at the very least ) ... Would've preferred if Fox had kept their properties tbh.

I do think that Disney might water down Deadpool, although since Deadpool was a successful R rated film, Disney might try to find a way to still keep Deadpool R rated without ruining their family image by having another company that would take in edgier content like Touchstone Pictures did.

@rabbitearsblog: I could see them making the Maximoffs mutants whose powers were dormant. Although they've used a lot of Wanda's connection to the stone to explain her and vision, which might be a problem... but also in the wake of Infinity War I could see more fear towards superhuman individuals, especially an entire race of posthumans.

That could work out with the results of Infinity War and then maybe Marvel could focus more on the X-Men in the near future.

@xwasright: Sort of, yea. Lead with mutations that are super destructive or have immense potential for destruction. One flaw to the FoX-Men is that all the mutants were pretty and powerful. I'd like to see them explore more unconventional powers, which can also set them apart from the Avengers more distinctly. Although I totally expect the MCU to nuke their power levels, they could also use the fact that mutants are ludicrously more powerful than any human hero, and use Scarlet Witch's accidental hotel bombing in Civil War as an example. (I reeeaaallly hope they reveal her and Pietro to be, like, latent mutants or something.)

I would like Marvel to have Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver to go back to their mutant roots. They would actually be the characters that could introduce the X-Men into the MCU based on their powers and maybe have a way to explain to the audience about how their powers are something they were born with and maybe open up the idea that there has always been people with powers in the MCU, but they remained hidden to avoid backlash from the humans.

@rabbitearsblog: And they only did it cause they didn't have access to the mutants then, and now that they will, it retrospectively makes that choice rather poor for their universe at large.

Exactly.

Nothing beats the hate marvel got for making iceman gay

DC might have something close, when they made Iris and Wally black , oh lord this site was full of closeted racist who were sooooo mad & some couldn't even admit that Hawkman and Hawkgirl were also black lol

That was another controversy that happened.

@outside_85: @rabbitearsblog: True, it does depend on the characters used, but I don't expect them to avoid iconic X-Men, because of better market draw on the recognizable nature of those characters. They're more likely to just twist those characters to meet their desired formula.

The Avengers aren't jokesters in the comics either, true, but they (Disney) benefited at least from there not being other Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, etc. movies out there showing them being serious. They had a blank slate with general audiences. With the X-men, an MCU tone would be jarring given how many serious X-Men movies there are out there in the public consciousness.

And yeah, the world building integrating the two very different universes will be very difficult. Not to mention differentiating mutants from Inhumans in Agents of Shield. I don't see it being smooth.

Unless Marvel wants to make the X-Men Inhumans in their universe to make things easier. But, we saw how disastrous that choice came to be.

The Empire of the Mouse expands further I see.

I guess I better prepare for a lot more joking in X-Men movies now.

I have a feeling that's exactly what will happen, although it can work well with the X-Men universe since some of the characters can be comical, like Iceman.

It doesn't fit with the majority of the X-Men characters though, but then again, neither were the majority of the comic Avengers barrels of laughs.

Not to mention, how exactly will Disney depict the world of the X-Men contrast to the rest of the MCU? Like the Avengers seem to live in a normal world where they are accepted and even celebrated... and the X-Men normally live in a world that famously fears and hates them even if you have to bring them under a microscope to find the actual difference.

I think that's going to be the most difficult part, especially with explaining about how mutants had existed in the MCU when there was no mention of them in the previous movies. I would be interested in seeing how Marvel will explain this once they get the X-Men.
