YES. Just. . . .yes. Well, at least yes to two of them. This may sound kinda strange, but I'm actually hoping TF4 bombs so Fox realizes they can't profit off these characters and Marvel gets them back, and I'm hoping TASM2 is the least successful Spider-Man movie yet (it probably will be, since TASM1 was the lowest-grossing) so Sony realizes the only way to save their franchise is teaming with Marvel to put Spidey in the MCU to be alongside his allies (Sony can keep the rights, they just need to let Marvel use the character). X-Men, on the other hand, I don't want back because they should be in their own universe. That means they'd still be at Fox, which is why I'm hoping DOFP bombs (or at least under performs) so Fox will realize they'll need to reboot the franchise completely with a 100% new cast and crew so we can hopefully get the movies we've always wanted. I still want Deadpool back at Marvel, though, since he's not truly an X-Men character and he could finally be done justice at Marvel.

I wouldn't mind if Fox rebooted the X-Men franchise, as long as they get writers and directors who really understand the stories and knows how to to make a team movie.

@rabbitearsblog: But isn't Fox already rebooting the series after Days of Future Pasts.

Yes, yes I wish they would. They would need to if ever doing a movie concerning a crossover such as Civil War (although I don't think they would do any such movie anyhow considering how only real comic & Marvel fans alike could truly understand it without getting confused) but the point is, Marvel is awesome when it comes to the Marvel Universes heroes/villains connecting & appearing with one another. I like that and I like seeing that in the movies as well, not just the comics. For example, I find it cool when we see The Punisher show up in an Amazing Spider-Man comic, or the other day when I read a old Spider Man comic, out of the blue came Ice Man from the X-Men and if an X-Man can show up in an old Spider Man (#92) then the possibilities feel endless. I'm rambling now but I guess I just find it all the more interesting when they intertwine :)

So its settled than most of us have no interest seeing X-men and Spider-Man bought by Marvel and let the MCU stand on its own without relying on their former high selling characters. Motion passed.

Marvel need Reed Richards so it would be good if they got FF rights because then they could introduce the Skrull and Secret Invasion storyline. Spider-Man is doing good where he is at Sony where they are making a Spidey verse and I hat the old x men movies but the new trilogy they are going to make seems good with First Class, DOFP and perhaps an Apocalypse movie

@s_knight360: Absolutely, Fantastic Four's pool of resource is being wasted away by Fox. Fox will give up Fantastic Four eventually if the movie bombs to the point of Batman and Robin, Steel, and the Doctor Strange pilot. Than Fox will give it up leaving them with only X-men.

I think that the companies need to keep what they have.

However, they need to get a creative team together to smooth out spots that cross over. IE, the current situation with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. The reigns need to be loose enough to get things done. If Sony wants to do a New Warriors crossover with Spider-Man, give them some room to do it. Let Fox do the Rogue/Ms Marvel storyline. Let Marvel call mutants by name.

Yeah, I feel like one of the biggest issues with Marvel's properties being spread out like this is the fact that they are restricted from using some of their characters, such as the situation with not being able to use the word "mutants" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since that would tie up to X-Men, which is currently being owned by Fox.

I think what should happen is leave Spiderman at Sony, cause lets face it they wouldn't let it go anyway and they aren't doing a bad job with it, get as much as you can from Fox, because their only successful movies are the X-Men movies and I would try to get those back to and not let Fox have anything, and then work with Sony and do cross-overs from there. Let Sony use characters to tie in with Spiderman such as Daredevil, Kingpin and such, then Sony should allow Spiderman and his universe cross over into the MCU. Fox should just be left in the cold because I don't think they would be willing to make deals. Heck, maybe Sony should buy the X-Men franchise and Marvel should buy everything else from Fox.

@tigerkaya: That's been said, but if it happens, the cast and crew will still be the same. I'm saying I want the current series to be abandoned and want a 100% new reboot with an all-new cast and crew (with no one returning). That way, we might get the movies we've always wanted and I can see my two favorite mutants (Cyclops and Colossus) finally treated well instead of just being background characters meant to make Wolverine look cooler (then again, that's everyone who's not Xavier or Magneto).

I would like that too, especially if having a reboot would help get other X-Men characters more screen time and story development.

Let them stay with Fox and Sony. The only franchise I think would fit with the MCU among them is probably FF

Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four, maybe, but Fox can keep the X-Men. Like others have said, shoehorning them in with the Avengers and the like would just make things too needlessly complicated.

Captan America:TWS is kicking Amazing Spider-Man's ass in box office sales, Obviously Marvel can bring Spidey back to supremacy if they can make Steve Rogers relevant again. It's like having Superman owned by another company instead of DC comics, Spidey is Marvel.

Face it Sony will go bank rupt without Spidey but I this point I don't care, Spidey needs first and foremost talent and A grade treatment since he's Marvel's Face and all, not Ironman.

YES!!!! We have seen what FOX has done and it has not been too pretty. Yes X-Men and X-Men 2 where good but they are missing alot of the great elements that we love about X-Men and it's just Wolverine and the X-Men honestly. After Origins, Wolverine and X-Men 3 why on earth would you want FOX to keep making these movies and ruining these characters? Also the argument about Marvel not being able to make these movies because they'd have their hands full with Avengers is a lame one. So you'd rather have a bad movie now then wait for a really good movie about our favorite mutants? I would rather wait! FOX give them up! Give Marvel back rights to X-Men!!!!

@tigerkaya: Why would you want an inferior offering from FOX? When you compare X-Men First Class to Avengers, it's like night and day. That makes no sense to me why you'd want FOX to keep making mediocre movies instead of letting Marvel make great movies?!?

@arinya: I know its crap but honestly I just don't want Marvel to buy back the X-men knowing how much Disney and Marvel would make more movies of the X-men, Deadpool and Wolverine leaving any hope for other heroes of Marvel Universe a chance to appear on the big screen from slim to none.

That's not a good argument. X-Men, hands down would get made if Marvel recovered therights. Hands down, Wolverine would get made. Those two alone open up the possibilities for more and more movies/characters to show up on screen. Look at Winter Solider! We got Falcon, Agent 13, Crossbones and they easter egged Dr. Strange! We keep getting more characters, bigger universe and good movies! To assume they would never get made is silly. Quality over quantity my friend. Quality is always better than quantity and Marvel knows what they are doing. Bring'em back. They are just being wasted over at FOX.

True the other reason being I have no interest in Marvel doing an adaption of Avengers vs X-men seeing how they tend to do hero vs hero battles poorly mix in horrible OOC to justify these idiotic asinine induced plots just to rile up a rivalry camp. If I wanted to get into fans vs fans I would watch a Super Bowl or Fifa world cup to get into a mindless rampage over team loyalty.

I agree with this. Probably what I'm afraid of is if Marvel does get the rights back for X-Men, then they might try to do an Avengers vs. X-Men storyline and I don't want that to come to the movie screen, unless they tell a better story about it. Also, if either X-Men or Spider Man come back to the Marvel Universe, then we probably wouldn't be getting movies like Guardians of the Galaxy or Ant Man because Marvel would spend so much time on X-Men and Spider Man.

@rabbitearsblog: Very true plus I would fear for what Marvel would do with the X-men story because lets face it how do you do a story of mutant prejudice when aliens, asgardians, Captain America and a Hulk enter the equation of people with powers that people root for. Hell the comics still haven't mastered how mutants being in a world of power accidents, magic and aliens roam the planet are still being hated. Its why Fox having the X-men is for the best.

It would be interesting to see how Marvel would deal with that if they did get the rights back to the X-Men. The only way I can see this working out in Marvel is if the other super heroes who also have powers are mistreated like the X-Men because then humanity wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a mutant and a person who got their powers in an accident.
