collection intervention is the dumbest show on tv.

So collection intervention is a show where a woman named Elyse Luray helps couples, families and individuals whose pop-culture memorabilia collections have grown out of control. Now I don't collect comic books but I do read them and man did one episode piss me off. It's an episode that features a man who has a collection of 30,000 comics which is obviously unacceptable and ridiculous but that's not what pissed me off. What pissed me off was this line
"A true comics collector has comics from the golden and silver age."
That's right! You might think your first run copy of The Incredible Hulk #181 featuring the first full appearance of Wolverine is worth something but guess what? It was produced after nineteen seventy so screw you! Got a signed copy of The Killing Joke?! Use it as toilet paper , Charmin is worth more anyways. God loves man kills?! More like God , why are you such a loser. Real comic book collectors only keep issues with great stories like The Human torch fighting asbestos man and rainbow batman!
Look don't get me wrong here I enjoy the silver and golden age as much as the next guy. Hell , The Galactus Trilogy was a key part of getting me interested in comics in the first place but the idea that you can only be a true fan or collector of comics if you only love the silver and golden age is ridiculous. Chris Claremont and Alan Moore deserve to be apart of anyone collection as much as Jack Kirby or Neal Adams.
