I remember reading Uncanny X-Men #390 (mmm, cheesecake!) about 8 years ago when I was 11. The drama, the characters, and the Peter's sacrifice definitely compelled me to start picking up comics when I was younger.
I got back into them about eight months ago with Sandman. My love for that series has led to half my bookshelf being comprised of paperbacks, hardcovers, and omnis.
I personally am a trade guy; I prefer having all my stories stored on a bookshelf in a fairly affordable fashion. And while I do buy some of the omnibus' and more pricey hardcover trades from Amazon ($61 > $100), most of my money goes to my local comic shop. They're cool to chat with, always reccomending things I may like, and occasionally give me discounts; and I know they could use the business.
That said, they're always telling me that it'd be a good idea to follow some of my favorite series on a monthly basis, but it definitely deters me when I see most of them going for $3 or $4 a pop. I'm willing to drop that amount on a select few monthly titles, but it's great to see someone addressing something like this. I'd rather wait a bit and get half a dozen comics in paperback form at a more affordable price.
Hulk is B-list hero? That is extremely false. If you don't like him..that's fine, but don't lie."
OK, let me put it this way: Hulk seems to have the makings of a B-list hero TO ME, but he is, indeed, an A-list hero.
No, I can't say I like him. Yes, I'm sure I could've worded that differently. Yeah, I'm sure he has things going for him that a lot of people like, but I can't say I like anything I've ever read something related to him that I've actually liked. And yeah, that's my opinion.
Hulk is just a glorified B-list hero that some people want to classify as A-list. He just doesn't pique my interest.
Now, Superman...I try to get into Superman. I really do. I LIKE Superman. I look for solo stories from him, and I hear that Geoff Johns has been putting out some sick material for him lately. But I do have to admit that his almost impenetrable urge to do the right thing gets on my nerves now and again.
