Does anyone else think it's possible for DC to create a DBZ-tier Justice League animated series?

Long story arcs, that give us insight on each character throughout each episode, hero and villain alike. With said story arcs focusing on one villain and one villain alone instead of that "Villain of the Week" or the "Darn you haven't seen the last of me" cliche in Saturday-morning cartoons. No in this animated series once the arc is over, the villain shouldn't necessarily be killed but just defeated in a fashion that makes it impossible for them to exact revenge. And if the villain does somehow come back it should be done far later in the series when both the heroes and the audience least expect it, not episodes later but seasons later. (i.e. Fukatsu no F).

And second, actual fights! Not just a 5-minute brawl where whoever happens to be stronger wins. I think it will be nice to have episode long fights where we can see both the villain and hero use their variety of skills and how their opponent counters it. It'd be more suspenseful than a short brawl.

I mean that's how the comics are, so why not the animated products?

Would this be a good route for DC or no?

Between the new Dragon Ball Z and Justice League films, which ones would you say are more enjoyable?
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods vs. Justice League: War

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F vs. Justice League: Throne of Atlantis

Which franchise has managed to create more enjoyable animated films this decade?

How would impact the course of the series? Before we get started, let's first think of which moment in Dragon Ball that he could have transformed into a Super Saiyan.

No Caption Provided

  • When Bora was killed by Tao, it was the first time Goku ever witnessed a companion murdered in cold blood, which makes it the most ideal moment for Goku to first tap into his Super Saiyan abilities.
No Caption Provided

  • When he found Krillin dead in the World Martial Arts tournament. Assuming the idea of Super Saiyan was thought of at the time, this could have been a perfect moment for Goku to become a Super Saiyan. Bora was just a friend, but at this point, Krillin was a lifelong friend, he's the first other person Goku ever trained with. Seeing the lifeloss body of his best friend was scarring to Goku. Since I don't care to waste time mentioning more possible transformation, I will leave it at this. In this hypothesis, Goku becomes Super Saiyan after seeing Krillin dead for the first time. So let's go ahead and see how this effect each event and story arc.

King Piccolo

Well it goes without saying that Goku is invincible during this story arc, with his power level at about 10,000 (200 x 50), he has enough energy to fly and casually shoot Ki blasts without draining too much of his energy. However, Goku is still a young and naive fighter and may not be able to utilize his ki very well, that will be touched upon later. Mind you, the Super Saiyan transformation changes the user's personality (especially when they first tap into it), Goku was already aggressive and vengeful as it was during the saga, with Super Saiyan, his rage is even higher and Goku is much more impulsive. Goku tracks down Tambourine and defeats him with ease. This ends up leading to his first encounter with King Piccolo, where SSJ Goku kills him easily. But depending on how Goku defeats him would drastically affect the course of the entire Dragon Ball trilogy. If Goku reduces King Piccolo to ashes, this would mean that Kami would die as well, meaning the Dragon Balls are lost, and that Piccolo would not be a part of the series. The only way Kami and Piccolo could exist would be a scenario that King Piccolo begs for his life, making Goku drop his guard and thus regressing to his base form. Allowing King Piccolo to take the advantage, mind you, even Adult Goku didn't master his Super Saiyan transformation immediately, so Kid Goku definitely wouldn't be able to. So with not a lot of free time to train, Kid Goku never gets around to mastering his Super Saiyan power, leaving the saga to go the same way it did. Thus allowing the Dragon Balls to exist, as well as Piccolo and Kami.

Piccolo Jr

Goku preceeded to travel to Kami's lookout. Goku could end up revealing his Super Saiyan powers to Kami, but being a smarter albeit weaker fighter would teach Goku how to properly harness his Super Saiyan power. When Goku returns for the World Tournament to defeat Piccolo Jr, Goku will more than likely not transform into a Super Saiyan. The obvious reason being that Goku, especially in his younger years loves a good fight and wouldn't go all out unless he absolutely needs to. So the fight would end up going to same way. But at the end of the fight before Piccolo breaks Goku's leg is when Goku would go Super Saiyan, and Goku would defeat Piccolo with his pinkey. Goku would say "Sorry Piccolo, but I was holding back the whole time, it was a good fight, but you could never win". Piccolo realizing how powerful Goku is, would train much harder than he ever did before. Goku would get back to his life with ChiChi and start his family like he did and thus starting the beginning of Dragon Ball Z.

Saiyan Saga

Considering that Goten and (main timeline) Trunks are the byproduct of their father already being a Super Saiyan, it's very likely that Gohan would be able to become a Super Saiyan much sooner than his main timeline counterpart. However, he may not have an incentive to tap into it and I will explain later. Raditz will arrive to Earth and eventually meet Goku. Goku will defeat Raditz with ease (Goku's power level would be at least 20,000). But would he kill Raditz? Highly unlikely, Raditz will see how strong his brother is and fear him, and the fact that he sees that his brother has become a Super Saiyan, he will worship him and request that Goku trains him to become a Super Saiyan or to at least become stronger.

Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, Chiaotzu and Yajirobe will never train on Kami's lookout since Kami knows that Goku shouldn't have a problem defeating them. I say that they might train on Kami's lookout because Kami was able to sense Napp and Vegeta arriving to Earth while they were lightyears away and Kami might train them in the event that Goku isn't able to stop them.

Nappa and Vegeta will wonder why Raditz hasn't reported in, leading them to check out the Earth themselves. Since Raditz more than likely respects his Super Saiyan brother Goku, Goku is able to regress to his base form to train with Raditz, which is very efficient for Goku (since Goku is abt 400 and Raditz is 1000), and SSJ Goku can train Raditz. Tien's power was able to go from 250 to 1,830, that's about 10x in one year. So I assume Raditz could've went from 1,000 to 10,000, but in his Great Ape Form (100,000) he would be more powerful than even SSJ Goku, but it's safe to assume Goku would end up tearing it off during their first comfrontation as a failsafe. However, this would mean that Goku never trains with King Kai (at least not yet).

Nappa and Vegeta arrive on Earth. All the Z-Fighers show up, but Goku and Raditz are the first to comfront them. Raditz defends Goku and suggests they all work together against Frieza. Vegeta and Nappa being too stubborn, simply refuse. Vegeta says "Nappa, take care of these traitors", but Raditz should be able to take care of Nappa easily, settling their old rivalry. Vegeta, dissapointed to see Nappa defeated by Raditz of all people, kills Nappa as he originally did. Raditz insists to fight Vegeta, but Goku tells him not too. Goku tells Vegeta "I have you know I'm a Super Saiyan", Vegeta would say "A Super Saiyan huh? Prove it". After checking his scouter, Vegeta will see that see is completely outmatched, and Vegeta would immediately turn into a Great Ape. At a power lvl of 180,000 the Prince of all Saiyans overpowers the Super Saiyan as well as Raditz.

None of the Z-Fighers were killed by Nappa. Meaning SSJ Goku has plenty of help in defeating the Oozaru menace. However, considering how weak SSJ Goku is in comparison to Oozaru Vegeta, some of the Z-Fighters may possibly end up dying again. Goku will have more difficulty with Oozaru Vegeta (not base Vegeta) simply because he does not know the Kaio-Ken technique, and even if he did at this level it's not likely his living body could sustain in Super Saiyan form as his Otherworld body barely could. Piccolo might end up defending Gohan from a blast aimed at him as he originally did, allowing the events of the Namek saga to take place. However, with plenty of backup, the combined efforts of Goku, Raditz and the other Z-Fighters should be enough to stop Oozaru Vegeta. Goku should be able to convince the Z-Fighters and Raditz to spare Vegeta's life, so Vegeta will leave to Frieza's ship as he did.

So let's say Piccolo dies. Well considering Goku would still end up getting pummled by Vegeta, he might possibly end up back in the hospital, meaning his comrades would still leave to Namek without him. I was going to make a scenario where Raditz goes to Namek with Krillin, Bulma, and Gohan, but it would involve too many variables and mix-matching, so I will just say Raditz is badly injured and stays on Earth with Goku.

That's what I got so far.

I think a live-action tv series based on Dragon Ball Z would be so perfect and awesome, especially if it had the same story-telling style of Smallville or Gotham.

It could start straight from the Pilaf Saga up until the end of the Buu saga, by then they should be able to even go into Dragon Ball Super. What do you guys think?

Would you like to see a live-action Dragon Ball Z tv series. Look at what we got with Gotham, I'd like to see something similar to that since it shows the progression of a famous protagonist. I'm just bored and fantasizing.

@stormshadow_x: I just know that a DC fighting game with the graphics of Injustice Gods Among Us but the platform of Raging Blast would sell massive.

@stormshadow_x: They could just not fly. Non-Powered humans in DBZ don't have any flight abilities in the Tenkaiachi games.

I really wish there was a Raging Blast-styled fighting game based on DC or Marvel comics. I was playing Injustice: Gods Among Us with my friend the other day, and then he put in Raging Blast. While I am more of a fan of DC comics than I am of the comparatively small DBZ universe, I have to admit. Imagine, being able to play as Superman, Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, or Martian Manhunter at full potential! Instead of being restricted to a small 2D platform. It would have far more room to bring a comic book fight to life.
