I agree with the same comments for anti-anime Batman.

I never, EVER want to see the words 'batman' and 'anime' in the same sentence, yet alone the same subject.

Why anime? What is wrong with AMERICAN cartoons (when spent money on for actual good animation and VAs, like TAS. Not a sweatshop flash animated trashy cartoon.)?

What's anime got to do with Batman? Just to get the target audience's attention? Pfah.

I honestly think this is one of any of the following labels:

1.] Absolutely atrocious.... move. Writing AND mythos/character/fandom-wise.

2.] Completely 'out of character' decision to kill off the one super hero who was so intimidating and powerful enough to be regarded as 'unkillable', in terms of everything. Yes, he is human; but to kill him off whether figuratively (crazy hobo ploy) or literally: ruins the whole point of Batman and Bruce Wayne. Might as well have given him laserbeams-for-eyes and immunity to acid years ago.

3.] The role/alter ego of 'Batman' is Bruce Wayne, and Wayne's only. It is not a 'mask' or a role that can be handed to somebody else. Batman was created when Bruce's parents got shot. You cannot hand the cowl over to somebody (from the POV of the character AND as a writer, OOCly) 'here, you be Batman!'.

4.] Whoever 'takes the role' is not Batman. It will just be 'Robin/Nightwing'; another emo, whiny ahem. Nobody can take Batman's place.

Unfortunately I'd have to pick all three; not just one of the above tactics/points. =|

Don't even get me started on how it will devastate the points, roles, future outlooks, and the BASIS for the other characters, such as The Joker or Jim Gordon. Or even Oracle.

I'm a Batman fanatic. 21 years old, Italian-Austalian, a self-confessed geek: I collect comics (signed, CGC graded, and the standard issues/TPBs/novels); I've currently got over 180 Batman comics in my collection, and I don't plan on stopping there >)

I don't agree with DC's new 'Batman: R.I.P' for the record; just letting you all know!

My favourite artist would definitely have to be Jim Lee.

My favourite characters would have to be... Batman/Bruce Wayne, The Joker, The Scarecrow, Manbat/Dr Kirk Langstrom, Harley Quinn, C. Jim Gordon, and others. Honestly, I love the entire Gotham City cast, but the top two would have to be The Joker and Batman. I don't like Robin at all; but who does?
