I got into the comics industry around the time of the New 52. I started with a large number of New 52 titles. Soon after I was introduced to the world of Image and all of the awesome number 1s to jump on. Then came the wave of Marvel NOW titles to jump on. So quickly I had accumulated a large pull list.
Leads me to the problem at hand.
Wednesday after Wednesday I arrive at my LCS to purchase my comics, and week after week I am greeted with the same familiar line of questions.
"Have you been enjoying _______?"
(where _______ is any one of the various titles I have been purchasing on a monthly basis)
To which I respond with
"I actually haven't been reading ______."
"Then why are you b--"
"Because I'll catch up eventually!"
This has been going on for so long that I've actually gotten pretty good at responding to the first question with
"Please, you know I don't read my comics."
There are a few reasons I have fallen so far behind with my comics. Partly due to the fact that I am something of a completionist, and like to know the full story. This wasn't really a problem with my New 52 titles, but proved problematic for my Marvel titles, especially the event centered ones. Partly due to the fact that I was picking up so many titles a month. I don't really know how many I was getting a month, but you'll be able to tell from the picture below just how many I've accumulated. And thirdly, after I'd fallen behind so much, my collection has become so disorganized. So anytime I feel pumped to start reading again, the chore of finding the issues becomes a deterrent.
So basically, what this all boils down to is, does anyone have any tips for keeping a well organized collection? Or any organizational suggestions, etc in general? I'm definitely open to help, as I'd really like to get caught up. At the current time I'd have to estimate that I've read around 10% of my owned comics. Maybe less. Terrifying I know, but I have gotten better and shrunk my pull list by quite a bit!
(You'll note that I've even fallen behind bagging.boarding them and they are just piled in the lids. Since this picture was taken, all the unbagged/unboarded books have at least been sorted by publisher. I know it's bad.)
Seeing as the game is already out....and these are "prequel comics"....
I've kinda held off playing the story till this is finished.
Does anyone know if the Injustice digital comics have and end date? I know they are released weekly online and then like 3-5 digital make up a single print issue, but does anyone know when this will end?
