Walt Simonson's '80s run is the quintessential Thor run.  I also find the entire Eternals/Celestial epic written by Roy Thomas and pencilled by Keith Pollard to be quite compelling.
This story, which culminated in Thor #300 (1980), was a time-spanning epic that really demonstrated Thor's nobility and power.  The characteriztion and art are great.  I might even prefer Pollards take on thor to Simonson's.  I go back and forth on that one.  Check this one out, but keep in mind this was before the annual epic storyline became the norm.  This story comes after the Thanos epic, the Kree-Skrull War and the Korvac saga, yet pre-dates Secrect Wars.  IMO it holds up well.

Whatever the final thought and sales of this one, it'll never match the original Thor annual (which was actually JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY Annual #1, 1965).
Why, you might ask?  Because it was the comic that introduced Thor's friend and rival:  Hercules!!!   One of Marvel's best, most underrated and most under-appreciated characters ever.

Warriors madness is a plot device clearly concieved to give Thor the ability to increase his strength.  It was'nt really needed, though, because Thor has a belt of strength that doubles his strength.  Still, the powers-that-be at Marvel decided to give Thor this strength enhancing ability (probably as a way to keep up with the Hulk) to give him a trump card over other top-level strength characters who've already proven to be stronger than him.  They should just state his strength to be at the level they want it at and show him using it.  Then they could dismiss this 'warrior's madness' berserker bullshit they've concocted from the Hulk and Woverine.  Thor is way cooler than either of them and he doesn't need to rip-off their respective shticks to be a bad-mofo.  I mean, c'mon, being extemely angry enhances the Hulk's strength; that's his thing.  Berserker warriors of old were in an emotional frenzy that made them nearly invincible in battle and having that be part of Thor's power-set might make some sense.  However, being in a state of berserker frenzy would'nt make anyone physically stronger, it would just make them able to access his/her full strength.  Like an adrenaline rush.

I'd have to say yes.  Using drugs or taking someone by force is rape, so why would'nt using mind-control be considered rape?  Flip the script:  If a male character used mind-control to get a female character to have sex with him would that be okay?  No.  Would it constitute rape?  Yes.  So to be fair and treat the genders with equality, this is rape.  One poster stated that since Thor liked it, it's not rape.  Liking it isn't the point.  Were both able to consent and did both participants consent to having sex of his/her free will?  If so then it's not rape.  If no then it is rape.  Weird to think of Thor, God of Thunder and one of the most powerful superheroes ever, as a rape victim.  At least it was by a female.

I think he's easily right where he should be in terms of power and perception thereof.  He's a top-level all-around powerhouse and top-level in strength, speed , durability, energy manipulation and experience.  He's not always properly used, but that can be said of nearly any character.  He's not under or overrated.

Juggernaut.

The Ruby of Cytorrak makes him totally indestructible.
Nothing can stop or destroy him.  This is his main power, even moreso than strength and stamina.
He's more durable than Gods, Cosmics, Heralds of Galactus, Eternals, etc.
Though he can be hurt and even defeated, he is immune to physical destruction.
He doesn't need to heal or regenerate like the Hulk, Wolverine, King Hyperion and others. He's always indestructible.

@The Jeff:
You called it!  John Romita, Sr. is the all-time best Spider-man artist.  That includes his rogues gallery and supporting cast.  He's  the standard and he set the bar so high it hasn't been cleared yet.
