When DC announced their Third Wave, only one title stood out to me: Sword of Sorcery. Team 7 looked generic (although I've been hearing good things from it), Phantom Stranger looked boring (and still does) and I'm not interested on Talon.

So, I picked up Sword of Sorcery 0, and I was quite surprised, but not for the reasons you may think. The part of the book I was looking forward the most was Amethyst, and I have to say that I was a good, quick (yet not rushed) and entertaining start. Nothing amazing, but it's the first (kinda) issue, so I'm willing to give the book a chance. Well, that and the surprise cameo at the end.

I was not looking forward to Beowulf. I mean, it's not Superman or Batman, or something cool, it's freaking Beowulf! But, I paid 4 bucks for this comic, so I might as well be sure I get my money's worth from this comic. Boy, I was in for a surprise. Beowulf turned out to be an engaging story with great art. The basic premise of Beowulf's legend is set up in this issue, but Beowulf himself gets a nice twist, which I really liked.

So, what about you? Did you pick up Sword of Sorcery? And if you did, what were your thoughts?

I was pleasantly surprised with this title. I'm def. on board for the next few issues. I agree that this comic isn't anything groundbreaking or new but its very solid and still incredibly entertaining.

The last issue of X-Factor offered another explanation to Lorna's mental instability.

It's a side effects of mental blocks put by Mastermind to shield Lorna from the truth - she accidentally killed her parents.

Not to reveal the tag or anything, but this is pretty huge for Lorna. I really hope she sticks around and we see how this affects her.

I have two questions for you. By the way, love the Ask G-Man questions videos:

1.) Do you read X-Factor? I notice theres a lack of reviews from the staff of it. Was just curious what you thought of the recent Breaking Points arc and the reveal of Polaris' origin finally.

2.) Do you think that Hollywood could faithfully make a movie adaptation of Bone? I know there were some rumours but I've heard nothing since and I find it hard to believe they could fit that entire series in 2 hours.

Thanks!

I think Color Kid takes this fairly easily.

Eye-Scream, while hilariously amazing, has no feats other than doing his homework on the X-Mansion and knowing the layout fairly well. Other than that...yeah lol.

IDC what anybody has to say to that.

Yes!! Wallflower was awesome. I would have loved to see what her powers could have evolved into.

I dunno. Fantastic Four's core concept has always been about family and that also spilled into the Future Foundation. Adding random characters to just add more to their numbers seems weird to me. Fantastic Four's uniqueness is that it is a family of heroes and that should always remain whenever it is relaunched, advertised, talked about, etc, IMO.
