Hollywood + Figthing games = Suckfest of a movie!

Pardon me if I hurt anyone with my comments, I just need something off my chest...

I guess the title says it all, Hollywood just suck at making films based on video games...
Anyone seen the live action Tekken Film?  It SUCKED...
Oh how about The King of Fighters live action movie? It SUCKED as well...
Need more? Try The Legend of Chun-Li! It Sucked sooo hard, it would've been much better if they made a porno instead....
Let's look at the classics... Street Fighter + Van Damme anyone? Eeeeeeeew! Suckfest!

Come on Hollywood, are all of you guys so freaking rich that you just spend money making these crap without thinking, Oh Wait, THIS SUCKS! CUT!!!

.... Wait I have another thought, ARE Western Filmakers SOOOO Bad at fighting games that they do not know the story to these fighting masterpieces??? AHA! You guys can't go past the 2nd round ar ya? HAHA That's why you make up crappy story's for your fighting game movies!!!!

... I feel better now. hehe

@Aiden Cross: The weird part is that if you watch the Van Damme movie The Quest, you realize "hey, that was actually a better Street Fighter movie than any of the actual Street Fighter movies."

Pretty much this.

With the exception of Street Fighter, it was just so bad that it was enjoyable to watch. :P

The only watchable movie based on video game was the first Mortal Combat.

DOA had it on a lighter note but come on, I know DOA was made famous coz of virtual g-cup bouncing goodies(which non of the chicks on the film had) but it had a lot of potential with it's stories, really playing it ( the mainstream games, not those beach volleyball crap), you would see how deep and dark Ayame or Kasumi's backgrounds are... The movie was like an old Spice Girl music video. "
I agree with you. It was great eye candy, but that was about. I have yet to see a fighting game make a REALLY good translation. Ong Bak is awesome. "
Ong Bak was good! i dont think it was based on a fighting video game though. "

You're right. I was trying to think of an example of a good fighting film. :)

I just saw Raging Phoenix. It wasn't as good as "Chocolate".

Katsuhiro Harada, director of the Tekken video game series, panned the film. “That Hollywood movie is terrible,” he tweeted. “We were not able to supervise that movie; it was a cruel contract. I’m not interested in that movie.”

Hollywood isn't one big evil entity that purposely ruins movies like that. You have to take into account the director, producers, actors, budget, script etc., etc., etc. Blaming everything on "Hollywood" is so  cliche.
