Whether or not a character is Iconic cannot be determined at a particular point in time. An iconic status is created over time, as a character/person cements himself within a culture and pervades the cultural ethos. Whether or not Thanos is iconic can only be determined in the future. Popularity fades; being an icon is more long-lasting (see Superman)

Now as you may know, the Snyder cut is getting a official release next year. Obviously he's going to edit the film, and even add additional scenes. But I was wondering, do you think he will take out some scenes that even his fans didn't like. I say this because much of the humor that many Snyder fans bashed the theatrical cut for having actually came from Snyder; most notably, Barry's quirkiness. With the exception of a few scenes - him falling on WW's chest, the brunch stuff - pretty much everything we saw from Barry in the TC is from Snyder.

It'll be interesting to see if he removes/edits out some of that stuff.

Now obviously this doesn't necessarily apply the BvS's Doomsday, but it is insane as hell.

I low how Petey says this but still made the title "DCEU DDs are moonbusters confirmed."

Also, that moon isn't even busted. But hey, it's not like Thanos did the feat to justify biased lowballing?

How does what I say in the OP at all contradict the title.

I say "DCEU Doomsdays", as in, evolved Doomsdays of unknown level can destroy moons, just not the one we see in the movie; that doesn't contradict the title at all.

Plus, what Thanos did in IW isn't even remotely similar to what we see in MoS. Thanos took of tiny chunks (compared to the size of the moon, those fragments were minuscule) off the moon and threw them at Stark; Krypton's Doomsday separated Krypton's moon into entire fragments the size of continents (assuming their moon is comparable in size to our own).

Justice League: Destruction Galore Edition

More like, 3.5 hours of mopey and dull characters rambling about their dour lives followed by a massive CGI fest action scene for 29 minutes straight and 1 minute sequence featuring a badly done CGI Darkseid's shadow.

Lol, you don't care so much about this movie that you've posted in nearly every Snyder Cut related thread in the past 3 days.

How does it feel to have Zack Snyder living in your head rent free? People like you are sad.

I've never understood the whole "only the theatrical versions of movies can be considered canon" argument. So if something happens off screen, it's not cannon? What if something is hinted at, but not explicitly stated, but is nonetheless later confirmed by the director to have happened; that's not considered canon?

It's really bizarre.

@petey_is_spidey: When I hear people say release the Snyder Cut, I'm in the same boat as Kevin Smith, I see people asking for a finished movie they think exist, not a directorial cut that's not done. The idea that a director of a movie didn't have their own cut before another director came in is moronic. I might be dumb, but I'm not that dumb.

Aw, gonna cry?

Just trying to help you from not getting banned.

Are there people who thought that Snyder had a fully finished cut of the film? Yes. Those people are by far the minority. The vast majority of us knew that though principle photography was done, and the scenes were cut together, that the CGI was not entirely finished. This isn't news. We always knew that he had a cut together 214 minute long film with undone CGI and post-production. Unfortunately, we have people trying to spin this as "hur dur da sNyDeR cUt DiDn'T eXiSt" to save face. It's disingenuous as hell.

@petey_is_spidey: This is what Kevin Smith said

That being said, I’ve spoken now to enough people at various levels in that production. There IS a Snyder cut. For sure. That's not a mythical beast. It exists. Now, it's not a finished movie by any stretch of the imagination. There were things that went away from the story that they shot that didn't wind up going into (visual) effects or anything like that. So I would assume, based on what I've been told, that large sections of that Snyder Cut are, you know, pre-viz (with) a lot of green screen. We're not talking a finished movie. When people hear ‘Snyder Cut’ in their heads, they think about, like, a DVD they've seen of an extended cut or something that's finished. The ‘Snyder Cut’ that, again I haven't seen, but the one I've heard everyone speak of was never a finished film. It was a movie that people in production could watch and fill in the blanks. It was certainly not meant for mass consumption.

Literally what I'm saying. Also you can't call me that on CV, definitely past the insult rules.

You said "it literally didn't exist" not "it is unfinished". The latter is true, the former is just bs.

If it "didn't exist", it would cost a whole lot more than $20 million bucks to "make it exist".

Take your L and move on.

Also you can't call me that on CV, definitely past the insult rules.

@petey_is_spidey:

I've realized those people are low key fans in disguise.

Really? Maybe, who knows. I've always thought they were just narcissistic, bitter people who wants everyone else to know how much they dislike something.

Bruh it's gonna be 6 episodes

Also, the snyder cut literally didn't exist. They're spending 20 million to make it exist.

Lol you people are f*cking clowns. Actors have said they've seen it; people in the comicbook media business (like Kevin Smith) have said they've seen it; he's literally showed the 3h34m film on his Vero account. Yet we still have clowns like yourself denying its existence despite the fact that it is literally starring you in the face.

The principle photography is completely done, and has always been done. The $20 million is going towards finishing the CGI and some potential reshoots that he may want to do. However, the initial principle photography - the 3 hour 34 minute cut that he has in his home - is real.

You were wrong; get over it.

Honestly it feels like 2015/2016 all over again. I can't recall being this hyped for a movie since BvS (I would say JL, but it was pretty apparent since June that they were going to butcher that film)
