I need to get a western fix. I used to watch Deadwood and loved it. I'd like to find a similar type of awesomeness in a comic book. Any suggestions?

Enemy Mine from the 80's is a favorite of mine. I watch it every time it is on. Classic fun.

The Walking Dead is good and entertaining, but definitely not a great show, imo. I have never found the characters very engaging and have only ever cared for 1 or 2 of them. The 2 old guys on the show were/are the only ones who were well written. Some people refer to it as the best show on TV. To those people I ask, "Have you ever watched Homeland or Dexter? Those shows have characters I actually care about."

Its not that I don't like the show. I just don't love it. I think the main appeal of it is the violence. Which I get. Its just not the best thing ever.

We are still talking about a book, right? Ive always thought more books, not less, was the way to go. Thats just me.

@using german words to try and impress people- "You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing."

@akbogert Since you have put yourself in a position to judge everything, is it okay if I go pick it up to see what has everyone so passionate and up in arms? That gonna be alright with you?

All of this talk just makes me want to pick up a couple issues and check it out. See whats so horrible/good about it. Adding it to my Wednesday list. Thank you, haters!

Does anyone like to smell their comics/trades? Maybe around the 4th or 5th pages? When nobody is looking?

Does anyone trade comics anymore? How about on this site?

I used to love saving up my allowance to go get my fix at the local Cards and Comics shop here in Portland. Even in preadolescence, I knew that being able to satisfy both of my needs at the same place and same time was something beyond special. Now that I'm older and some of my interests have come full circle, I have to visit two different crack houses/ opium dens to feed my cravings. There is just something about that sweet, sweet stock that they use to make my comics and baseball cards. Is anyone else still carrying this dual addiction?
