PRAYING MANTIS

 
Praying Mantis is an expert martial artist, gymnast and athlete with enhanced speed, strength and reflexes. 
He is armed with two sythe like weapons, which he can use like ice axes for climbing.

In the troubled times of 2099, DEATHSTROKE units are deployed in any city that has been placed under martial law. The robotic enforcers, armed with pulse cannons and energy blades, hunt down and eliminate anyone breaking curfew.

I will show you the process I went through to create this character if you are interested. 
 
1. I began by sketching out the character in Photoshop, using a Wacom tablet. 
 
2. Then I go over the sketch on another layer using the pen tool. (Sometimes I just tidy up the lines on the existing sketch). 
 
3. On seperate layers below the lines I fill in the flat colours. 
 
4. I then add the highlights and shadows. 
 
5. I then add the final details like special effects, textures, etc.

For this contest I'm going to go with Buckshot's "subtle" suggestion of an amalgam of MR MAJESTIC and THOR. 
 
Deadline is Saturday 6th November.
