Just finished the episode. Great show, I must admit I had my doubts about this show but it turned up great. Love the continuity aspect of the episodes.
@batsymyplaything: thanks for the answer, this sounds interesting. Can you explain how does it work then, is his body now a mere reflection? Or is it just his mind that's gone? Can you tell me in what issues does this happen?
AAP are my favourite articles on comicvine. These are all beautiful drawings, but it seems to me that everytime you do this article, you post works by mostly the same artists. It would be cool to sometimes see some other comic book artists' work.
Can anyone tell we in which issues did Green Arrow clash with the Count? I recall that they fought in the Green Arrow miniseries from the 80's and there was a one issue story in the volume that started with Smith's Quiver, but other than that I cannot seem to recall other times when the two met. So can anyone help?
The idea behind the count that they came up with looks cool, still, I'd like to see a Count Vertigo who is maybe this foreign dictator who maybe has some shady business in Starling City or like they did in the GA short animated film when he tried to assassinate Perdita.
To any reader fairly new to GA I'd suggest reading The Longbow Hunters, that's a must. For me and many others it's the greatest Green Arrow story ever. Also if you can track down Mike Grell's run, the first 80 issues, they're comic book gold. Other than that the Year One is a great story, and what else, maybe Quiver if you like the superhero fantastical elements, then yeah, and the second trade Sounds of Violence where he goes up against Onomatopoeia, that I also liked. After that, well, some stories were better and some truly awful. But all in all I'd recommend you to start with The Longbow Hunters.
For me, there were very few good GA stories in the last couple of years. When Krul came to the title I hoped for something decent and at first I must admit that I liked the Rise and Fall storyline. But then the whole forest saga didn't do it for me. Yet, the most surprising thing is that, correct me if I'm wrong, I think Krul is the only writer who remained on a title in the New 52 that he also wrote before and rebooted completely. And knowing that he'll be rebooting the character he did nothing to give us a good closure on the old Ollie. That's one thing. Another thing - why did he do the reboot? It's like telling us forget everything I was building up last year, this will be cooler. Or is it? Then he leaves after a few issues. That's how he cared about the character. To be honest, I think that the editors forced the "more Smallville-like" changes to the character. But now, with the zero issue, which was just horrible, they start mixing it with the "Arrow" series. (What's interesting is that the print version of the digital first Arrow tie-in comic sold more copies than the New 52 series.) It's like they got nothing creative of their own to give us. The announcement of Lemire/Sorrentino coming in to the rescue is something that gives me hope for finally getting a GA title that will be memorable and interesting. The only problem is that the'y have to start with the lame New 52 version. I would have loved to see them creating this title from issue one. Oh, well, you can't have everything. Still, the future looks bright for Ollie. Can't wait 'till February.
