I do wear spandex!

Man, I do that anyways. I might as well be a superhero too. I mean, let's look at this...

  • I wear spandex
  • I can go over 150 km/h not in a car (Super speed!)
  • I occasionally fly through the air (As a result of the super speed...)
  • I can walk away from horrific accidents unscathed (Invincible!!!)
Totally a superhero...

Luge World Cup

Big week for me, this week. It's the luge World Cup here in Calgary, and my first one of the year! Go me! Anyways, qualifiers are on Thursday at 3pm Mountain Time, which I'll be in, and if I do qualify, I'll be racing in the big show Saturday at 2:55pm Mountain time. Women's and Doubles races are on Friday at 3 as well. You can catch all of the action live at Universal Sports.

It's a huge deal for me, because if I qualify here, I race again in the Whistler world cup next week (With the same setup) which puts me one step closer to my Olympic dream!!

For those of you who have no clue what luge is, check it out here and here.

Wish me luck!!

Bearable Christmas Music!

If you're like me, you hate, no, LOATHE Christmas music, since it's always the same thing every year. So this year, I've decided to assemble song I can find bearable, on this lovely little playlist. If anyone has any other suggestions for other additions, let me know!

Funniest Comic Moment

For me, the funniest comic moment was in the most recent Deadpool comic (#4 I think...). The entire dialogue with the hunchback was awesome, especially with the reference to "Young Frankenstein".

"It's pronounced 'Eye-gore'." Hahaha.

Now that I think of it, most of that book was great. The exploding chair was kinda funny too.

"This chair's pretty comfy."
"Yea, but can it explode?"
"......"
"That's what I thought."

Well....

In the 5th grade, I was the Riddler. It was a sweet costume. Not sure about anything after that (Unless being an awesome pirate counts) This year, I'm going as Two-Face, and I should have some pictures to post by tomorrow.

It's that time of year again...

The leaves are changing colour, it's getting darker sooner, and every morning when I wake up, it's too cold to get out of bed. Yes, fall is here and with that, the opening of the Olympic Bobsleigh, luge and skeleton track in Calgary. That means for me, it's time to hop back on the old sled (I named her Lucy), and start up the series of races in an attempt to make the National Luge Team again, with Olympic aspirations for 2010.

So far, it seems to be going well. I've passed physical testing, which consisted of power cleans, bench press, horizontal row, sprints, pull-ups, and VO2 Max. For most of the weight lifting tests, a minimum of 1.3 times my body weight had to be moved, and I passed with flying colours. Hopefully, it was enough to impress the national team coach (Though he seems to never remember my name...). Now we just have two races in the coming weeks to determine the official roster. Wish me luck!

For those of you who have no idea what luge is, I'll throw some videos in for you to give you a better idea.
