If you're a Deadpool fan, and by fan I mean you've read at least his wiki page, some of his comics, and know his backstory, you will be depressed after watching this film. I have personally read all of Deadpools solo comics to date, and some C&D comics, and I was disappointed with this movie. Let me tell you why....
In the comics, before Wade joined the Weapon X program he was a serious mercenary and NOT a mutant. In this movie, he is a joker before being part of the WX program, and it is implied that he is a mutant. In the comics, he joined the WX program because he had cancer and it was his last resort. In the WX program he was deemed a failed experiment, and became scarred as his cancer and his healing factor "merged" or something like that. He also got his sense of humor AFTER becoming scarred and leaving the WX facility (it is implied in the comics that his brain was damaged from the cancer and healing factor). His Deadpool name was acquried from being pretty much unable to die, so he was at the bottom of the "deadpool" while in the WX facility. In the movie, the only thing scarred is his mouth from being melted shut, and his name, "Deadpool," is acquired because he was given a "pool" of a numerous mutants abilities. He is never in costume in the movie, and he must not have longer than 20 minutes total screentime in the movie (if that).
Though I did like some of his wisecracks in the movie, his story is completely innacurate and this movie probably ruined any chances of him having a solo movie, unless someone who actually has read his comics makes a movie about him and completely ignores Wolverine: Orgins.
