Greatest Jedi Knight ever !

Who is the strongest Jedi Knight ever ? Many great Jedi we're born in the Star Wars but who could we called the greatest. I think it depends on some rules:
- Wisdom
- Strength
- Controling the Force
- Intellect
- and many more. ( you can add if you want more in the comments )
Who do you think is the greatest Jedi ever and explain why ?

I hate to say it but in all the categories you mention I believe Luke Skywalker to be the strongest Jedi ever.  Sure, his training may have started way later than other Jedi traditionally have, but we must remember that he is Anakin Skywalker's son, the one destined to bring balance to the Force.  With him having eventually turned to the dark side it was only natural  that a child of evil be the finest of the side of righteousness.  Eventually Luke becomes wise and strong with his mastery of the Force, especially when one looks at feats he performed later on (such as the War against the Yuu'zhan Vong where I believe he summoned emerald lightning which I believe was something no Jedi before him was able to do).  Based on his feats in the EU it would seem then that Luke eventually would become the strongest Jedi even if in my mind I'm very reluctant to admit it.

Luke Skywalker showed Vader the light with his metachlorian tears. He has my vote.

It's between Luke Skywalker, Anakin, and Darth Caedus. Hell those would be my canidates for greatest Force Sensitive.

1. Anakin doesn't come close.
2. .... how can Darth Caedus be the strongest Jedi Knight?

Depends on how you use the term "Jedi Knight." By most, it's just a general term for Jedi - though, yes, it is a title like Master.

JediXMan: Hmm, Anakin was the one who borught balance to the force and it's been said if  he kne whis full potential and din't fall to the dark side he would be the greattest, most powerful force sensitive in Sith and Jedi history.

Also Darth Caedus when still Jacen Solo mastered Force Light achieving Oneness with the Light and Dark Side of the Force.

Well I sort of see it as Ranks within the jedi order. A master holds higher esteem than a knight... but yeah, i'm probably looking too much into it lol :p

@Jnr6Lil:

Anakin never reached his potential. Any and all speculation for what kind of power he would have had is just that - speculation, and therefore has no basis in fact. Anakin can be the "Chosen One" all he wants. He has no feats to put him anywhere near the power of Luke. As a Knight, Luke beat Vader. That was only after a year of training; now flash forward with over 40 years of training, and Luke has no equal.

Jacen achieved that power as a Knight, this is true. But he still wasn't anywhere near Luke's power until he became a Sith Lord. Even as a Sith Lord he lost to Luke; only reason he gained an upper hand was because of the environment, not through his own power.

I was more so going on my personal feelings than power. But I guess that would be "favorite" and not Greatest eh?

It's the overall appeal of the Imperial Knights for me, and he is the symbol of the Knights.

@JediXMan: How does Yoda compare to Luke in Wisdom? I'm not an avid reader of the Star Wars EU but Yoda always stuck me as the most wise character.

Yoda was wise, yes. But I think Luke surpassed him by the time he became Grandmaster.

Also was curious about dipping my toe into the expanded universe.  Would love a nice starting point.  Comics or books.

There's no single spot to start from. You see, Star Wars is divided into multiple eras. Each era requires a different starting point.

Which Old Republic comics? There are lots. The Old Republic itself is the largest era, spanning over 25,000 years.

And he didn't. He never reached his full power; therefore, he has no place among the strongest. It's just a potential statement in which he has no feats. You said that he would've been the greatest; he did not, and so he is not.

Jacen did just a single thing Luke couldn't do. Luke did multiple things Jacen couldn't do (manipulating black holes, electric judgement, etc.). Just because he has one power Luke doesn't have doesn't mean he is stronger than Luke.

I think my favorite force-sensitive character will always be Ulic Qel-Droma. My brother asked me why I liked him so much and I told him, "Because he killed his own brother." We don't talk much now.

For that series, you should first play the KOTOR games, and then start with KOTOR #1 (comic). While the series doesn't follow the characters from the game for the most part, some do, and they are great cameos.

I'm telling you right now: you want to get into the EU, the KOTOR games are essential.

I'd suggest the Best of PC package. It might be easier to get, and it has a few good games:

KOTOR
Republic Commando
Empire at War
Battlefront
Galaxies (14-day trial. Not very good anymore since the developers killed it)

@JediXMan: Republic Commando and Battlefront? Awesome! Galaxies was an ok game, I preferred playing as a Bounty Hunter or smuggler.

I was a Bounty Hunter. I stopped playing a few years ago. My stuff is probably gone... oh well. I should've sold my lava crystal...

Yes, we have discussed the game on my forum, as well. I'm skeptical, but I'm also hopeful. I don't know who I want to play as first.

Once more: being capable of just a single power does not make him the greatest.

Explain why Luke was beating Jacen when they fought. Explain why Jacen only gained the upper hand during the fight due to the environment (his Yuuzhan Vong torture devices in the room).

Also, he never did it again. He did it once.

JediXMan: Ue a good debatre for a Star Wars fan like myself. Lets just settle that Jacen and Luke were at about an equal level.
