Here!

I am so excited! It looks like an awesome movie. I only started reading the x-men 4 months ago so this is a perfect place to jump in at I think. I can't wait to hear what people have to say. Be happy the rapture didn't come!

I think it an interesting case of Wonder Woman Vs. all Marvel women. Wonder Woman was specifically created to be icon for men and women to look up to during World War II. Writers struggle to come up with stories because she is more god-like than human. All of the characters at Marvel seem to have human flaws (and oedipal thing they did to Miss. Marvel was completely insane).

My choice: Rescue! (Pepper Potts)

Works of literature are becoming comics at a constant rate. I admit Little Women looks mildly interesting with pastel colors attached to it. There are some really cool Manga versions of Shakespearean plays out.

But can the guys in spandex be used in the class room? X men can teach lessons on tolerance. Superman sparked debate in the news, so why in not in the class room? In school I grew up knowing nothing about comics until I got a job and some disposable income. This is an extremely unique medium in which the writer doesn't necessarily own the character they will devote years of their life writing about (and have it undone in two issues in a twist of irony).  There is some great art work in these "flimsy magazines" that could be analyzed in an art class.

So who would have been more attention in high school if Batman was compared to Hamlet? And to those who have kids in school, are graphic novels being used more?

This is a funny subject. I was on my way home from school and stopped at a discount book shop and discovered a ton a of vertigo comics. The owner was standing near by and I told him how thrilled I was to find these comics. He then said: "Don't worry, your secret is safe with us."

I don't think people get it yet. It is a unique medium in which a writer is given the chance to continue the life of a character that affects readers around the world (who got mad when Wonder Woman killed Max Lord?).  There was a huge push to circulate graphic novels in libraries at the middle school level because to teaches them to read with and understand more serious themes.

Normal is very relative concept.

Think about it. The economy is down and there are budget cuts happening everywhere, including the police budgets. If Batman wants to make his organization global, shouldn't he also include some American metropolises? What city could use a caped crusader to pick up the slack?

I'll make the case for my hometown: Buffalo, New York.
It is nationally ranked as being one of the poorest cities in the country. It has plenty of abandoned buildings and grain elevators ideal for hiding a place of operations and access to water. There are tunnels underneath all of the colleges. And the #1 reason: Google insane asylums and a picture of an insane asylum in Buffalo will show up. The Richardson Complex is featured in Brian Azzarello's Joker and the Bermeejo confirmed that he used the building for inspiration.
The cons: It lacks tall buildings.

So make the case for your home town to be residence of a Batman! I'm curious about other a cities and I thought about Detroit but I think that city is under the jurisdiction of Robo Cop.

Have you ever looked at the design of asylums and wondered where it came from? Well a friend of mine pointed this similarity and I was able to confirm indirectly from Lee Bermeejo that the Richardson Complex in Buffalo was his inspiration.  Behold the Arkham Asylum:

I work at a library where we some times get some interesting stuff. A couple weeks ago we got a whole box of Superman comics dating back to the mid 90's. These did not interest me as I have never been a fan of Superman. From the stories that I skimmed through, they all seemed to be about what would happen if Superman became evil.

I have read a book called "Supergirls" and the 90's were listed as the dark ages for female super-heroines as this is when Wonder Woman wore a thong.  I was under the age ten back then and I did not know what a comic book store was.

No! It sounds really interesting! Keep writing. Here is a tip I learned from one of my teachers: Assume every one who is reading your material has ADD. My other suggestion would be to write a quick spoiler-free summary, which I wish was required here like on some of the other boards I have written.
