At first I would have to say to have the powers at birth, that way you can learn to use them and master them as you get older. But the drawback of having them at birth, you do not have the wisdom, and intelligence to handle any ability you have. Chances would be pretty good you'd wind up a science experiment, or goverment property. That would suck

So I then have decided, having powers when your a teenager would be the best. You could still have the time to devolp and learn the abilites and be on top of your game before you turn 18. You'd have enough common snese to use your abilites in a way not to attract attention, but use them to get yourself paid, or a date.

So either finding/being chosen would work perfectly, I'd even accept a mutation when I hit puberty. I'd love to have Colossus's power when I was a teen for example

I am shocked to see the the big guy with such a small showing. The coolest super power in comics ( next to Captain Marvel's SHAZAM!!)
Loved his quiet and peaceful soul, but was able to rip sh*t up when he had too. Often considered the weakest of marvel's strong men for the longest time, but that classic red and yellow suit drawn by john byrne was I needed to see
