Nitara's ending showed that her realm was being held together with outworld through the existence of that portal orb. Anything said in Konquest mode is along those lines. No where does it say that Kahn used portal orbs to merge worlds. Like I said before, as far as we know the orbs are a by product of the merge that Kahn initiates.

Here is another quote from the wiki:

And beyond that, I asked you what word would you use to describe the act of merging the worlds? Are you saying that the you think the orbs warp reality?

Anyway, how would you describe combining two planets, not by raming them into each other, but by merging (fusing) them together at the level that they were?

Actually you are wrong and woefully inacurate.

MK9 may be the current storyline, but the canon established in the previous games still exists, and through Raiden those past/future canon events can/do still affect the current future. Characters like Shinnok, Taven, Deagon, Fujin, Onaga, Shujinko, and many others are still around in the current timeline in some form or another biding their time with feats in tact. From what NRS has set up and shown so far, we can all see that Armageddon is still coming.

Since you claim you aren't using comics or anime (any more), and you want to say actual gameplay is in, then don't forget MK's test your might, test your strike, and challenge tower modes. In those modes MK characters are seen breaking/shattering stone, steel, diamond, iron, and even titanium, and with abilities like teleportation and flight, that gives many of MK's fighters a clear advantage in combat strength and versatility. Also, there are other moves such as Shang's fireballs, which incinerate helicopters, and Kintaro's flame, which incinerate people, have been shown to be more effective over all.

Street Fighters may be able to break down a stationary car with their strikes, but MK characters can one shot people, bridges, and moving helicopters all day long.

Lastly. Sinking an island is the same as being beaten by liu Kang? Those are the 2 events you choose to compare? Really??

Please share. What has Akuma done canonically (no anime or comics) that compares to:

- Shaking the core of the earth and almost destroying it as a byproduct of a fight (Radien and/or Shinnok, MKM)

- warping an entire plane of existence to your whim (Shinnok, MKM)

- affecting an entire planet with your power, and actually warping reality to merge it with another (Kahn MK9)

Rules:

- standard gear for both

- Hood and his merry men have 1 day prep, but don't know anything about the assassins

- Altiar has intel on Hood's archery skill and basic knowledge on his hide away layout.

- Hood has 2 merry men in combat

- Altiar has 2 assassins in combat

Yeah. I will go on record with that as it is true. The Power Showings of the Cannon Games and Animes trump the Showings in MK9.

At the end of MK9 Shao Kahn used his magic to affect both Earth and Outworld essentailly warping reality and mergering the two planets. Doing that gave Kahn power far beyond Raiden out right. Who in SF has matched that?

Also, isn't the specific comparison that you guys are using a little unfair/one sided? Or are you trying to make it more fair.

Shao Kahn didn't use his powers to merger Earthrealm and Outworld, the merger is started through the use of Portal Spheres which create the union of two realms. This was stated in the MK:Deception Konquest, but I not for sure if this has been retcon'ed or not.

Wo cares if Shao Khan cause it or not. Thats a neat NON OFFENSIVE attack. He has poor barely meta human showings in battle which this thread is all about. Akuma destroys Islands and cities alone with his power. MK9 is Weak!

I think the wiki said it best. The portal sheres are "the physical manifestations of the magic that merges one realm to another". Never has it been stated that Kahn uses them to merge realms; it has only been shown that the orbs hold the realms he's mergerd bounded to each other. For all that we know the orbs could be a byproduct of the energies produced during the merging. But none of that really answers, nor has anything to do with, either of my quesions.

Also, no, Akuma didn't destroy an island, he sunk one with his chi, and if he destroyed a city (again with his chi), that wasn't in canon, nor was it in any anime. But regardless, how would Akuma stop a soul drain from Kahn in the first place?

But just so we are clear, now you are pitting all of the SF's canon + SF's animes + SF's non-canon comics vs a fraction of MK's canon?

Seems like the odds are just getting more and more stacked to one side. Compensating much?
