Raimi clearly knows what he is doing if you look at the quality of the first two films and in moments the third, but this is just another example of the greed that is at the heart of the film industry, why prolong a troubled process that will delay the cash when you can gain twice the interest and there for one would assume twice the profit by starting again for no good reason. Would it have been that much of a problem to hire another director + team to work on number four? no, production teams get changed all over the place on other film but a franchise as lucrative as this deserved to be milked as much as humanly possible. Quality over quantity? In there eyes i think not.
Don't worry, even if they arn't in the Avengers movie this time around there bound to pop up in the inevitable reboot a few years later ya lucky so 'n' so!
