New Age.

That's it I've moved out and away, Sat at a desk silence all around. Seen some new people, they seem cool. Fist night was always going to be weird, just means there is another lazystudent on the vine now. Miss everyone, especially the cat. Glad i have this place though, a home from home. The picture isn't overly relevant i just thought it was nice:

The London Film and Comic Con 2010

This weekend I travelled down south to Earls court for the London Film and Comic Con 2010, not exactly San diego but still a damn good show never the less.

Give me your money, All of it.

Earls Court 2 played host over the Saturday and Sunday to an impressive array of stalls although not as many comic based ones as I would have liked, I was slightly disappointed with the overall comic side of the event which seemed to have been somewhat neglected in favour of other stuff however one of the most interesting points was the DC Comics 75 anniversary section that had displays of the companies many great titles over their long history, from Batman’s first appearance, the death of Superman and the New Guardians from Blackest Night as well some props from Superman and Batman and a teaser poster for the Green lantern movie plus a free goodie back with the Watchmen Motion comic DVD. (Love me some free stuff :P ) Also at the main door was the Tumbler from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight that was attracting quite a lot of attention.

The guests included non other than the captain of the Enterprise himself, Mr William Shatner, Would have liked to get a pic of him, however The Shat was sectioned off and for the price of one photo I could (and did) buy about four TPB’s. Others included Sean Pertwee, Tom Noonan, Nick Courtney, Ben Browder, Katee Sackhoff and even Mike Tyson who was also sectioned off somewhere on the Sunday. The comic guests were few and far between but the ones I managed to see around were Greg Rucka, Al Davison and Robert Rankin.

Of course no con would be complete without cosplayers, the majority of which were Doctor Who related (such is always the case over here) but there were quite a few Harley Quinn’s knocking around and one or two Jokers.

Walking round on the evenings we did happen to see one of the strangest signs I have ever seen at a cemetery and a little later while following Google maps on my phone happened to pass something by the tube station that really would have come in handy. Amazing really, the things you see when you’re looking for a Chinese restaurant. Overall it was a great con and well worth going down for the both days, bagged myself a load of trades that I’m soon going to get stuck into (or after the big move probably) hope everyone who is off to SDCC next week has a blast!

2009 Thus Far

Well its been an interesting year for me seeing as i began collecting current comics and not just the odd ones from the 70's 80's & 90's, So here is my five favortie moments/ issues/ events in no real order.

Thor #600 onwards.
Always liked Thor and wanted to read a current issue and seeing 600 made it the obvious jumping on point for me. really enjoyed the direction in which it has been taking and i must say that this current version has become my favortie

The Dark Avengers.
I'll admit that i was a little late to the game on this one, starting at issue 6 but managed to back track my way up to date (and still am kind of) Think this has been really enjoyable so far, seeing the villans in such a possition of power has been a blast and the best seems yet to come.

Utopia.
Ok yeah it wasn't fantastic but i was looking forward to it for awhile and did enjoy it enough to mention & also that it is mainly because of Utopia that im following The Uncanny X-men like my brother before me.

Iron Man: Worlds Most Wanted.
Again something i was late to but it has become one the best things ive read this year, Seeing a diffrent aspect to Tony Stark and the relentless nature of Osborns pursuit have been a fantastic game cat and mouse.

Beta Ray Bill: Godhunter.
Liking Thor, Beta Ray Bill always seemed kinda cool to me but this cemented him as one of my favorties. Godhunter had a great premise but suffered with a weak ending but it was the shear audacity of taking on Galatus and almost succeding in his downfall that still makes me enjoy this 3 part mini. Went on to get Stormbreaker: The Saga of Beta Ray Bill and enjoyed that even more, A fantastic character i hope to see more of in the future, and apperance in Seige would be most awesome indeed.

A further point would be that this is also the year i had the good fortune to find become more aquanted with this here awesome site so that is more than worth a mention to id say :) 2009 isnt over just yet though, im really looking forward to 'Strange' which is out next week and I bought the Old Man Logan trade the other week and am itching to get stuck into it also im currently reading the 'American Son' trade and finding that to be quality stuff. Long may the comic buying and comic vine continue!

For me it would go something like this...

 1. The Beyonder will be restored to his former glory: Effective (almost) immediately.
2. More focus on Beta Ray Bill ( in a good way not how Wolverine has gone)
3. Spider-man would be put back on track, back with MJ and past 'new day'
4. Acquire the rights to make and produce a Doctor Who volume
5. Apocalypse, he shall be used once maby twice after this then he gets sidelined.
6. Do some more with Ghost Rider
7. Less Wolverine ( even though i like him this has gone to far)
8. Limit the amount of 'Events' and when they are used they shall have been planned like LOTR
9. Would like Fantastic 4 to have a dark story with Doom
10. Improve the quality of Marvel Team ups
11. A little more on Galatcus
12. Marvel Knights Returns
