Cintiq Fun

I totally recommend saving all of your pennies for one of these. I'm still getting used to it but just being able to go where I want and work and zoom in as much as I like. omg I am loving it.

Awesome!
Can I come over to your house and borrow it?

I'm poor so saving my pennies for that one is going to take a while... but until then! :P

well, you can't really blame him.
1500$ is after all, a moderate dent in the pocket, and the guy who has the magic wand always likes to disperse the stars coming out of it !

It's gone down in price I think I paid 1082 and that was including in stock 2 day priority shipping included. from pcconnection.com I believe it was, anywhere else didn't have it in stock.

damn, you even stretched for that kind of shipping, that ends up practically being a bill in itself.
So here's the big question, how's it feel compared to your traditional tools? As you tweak to make a pen or a marker look, is it feeling realistic enough to produce the desired effect you normally get?

well it was only 12 more dollars as opposed to a 5-7 day delivery from jersey. And let me tell you I would buy from them again, it was here exactly 2 days later. Too bad I didn't get to use it until 7 days later haha stupid pc build.

As far as the question about the brushes, I've never fooled around with brushes much in photoshop. A lot of digital artists make their own brushes, I've tooled around with the effects when I was coloring with a mouse so pretty much anything is possible. With the normal brush in photoshop and the pen pressure feature of the tablet I can make a size 70 brush have the precision of a size 10 brush but just how light I'm touching the screen. I'm still not used to the fact that I can control it that significantly hence why I'm playing with colors on pieces that aren't like super important to me at the moment.

The real wallet biter is the Epson Expression 10000XL scanner I want to buy.  The cintiq cost me nothing since the money I received in a lawsuit settlement paid for it, I know I wanted one for a long time so as the fates would have it I jumped on the impulse wagon. The Epson on the other hand I'll end up eating every cent on. Then there is the 30 inch HP monitor I also would like to add to my desk since I'm still stuck in 20in LCD land. So it's a waiting game for me. I don't even own a real art desk, so that's also on my radar.

It's just funny in general how technology itself is one of the things that has mostly gotten me inspired in pumping out more artwork, I'm probably drawing as much as I did when I was in high school.

@Om1kron: it is funny about that with technology. I got into tech cause I wanted to use it artistically. Then ironically it became my career and there was nothing creative or inspiring about it if I had to make it run to work it.
I'm finding a more 'happy medium' these days and focusing on making sure my shit runs right, for inspirations sake :)

@Om1kron: Lol... well I thought you had ordered the art desk...
Yeah I remember checking up on the wacom site how much your tablet was for, I think it was 999 usd(its the 12 right?)... Its practically twice the amount here, so I dont think I'll ever be able to save up enough to buy one of those, Although I do have my eye on this Hp touch computer, the sensitivity is brilliant, but again its about 65 to 70000 indian!!

@Om1kron:  scanner costs about 2500 dollars! that sure is heavy on the pocket.
30 inch monitor will provide a large workspace!

@Om1kron:  Dedicated scanner ah!!  Thats really nice, I have a standard Printer scanner copier from hp, it cost me about 100 usd so about 4500 bucks for me. Its scans upto an A4 size and well the quality is whatever sketches Ive posted up here.... But yeah for the amount of detailing and work you put in, Im guessing that one wont do the trick!! :P
