It has been established that Jim Kent is more of an administrator and paper pusher and he isn't even a doctor. This was established in even the second episode if I am not mistaken. The side effects of chemo are not 6ft long stingers coming from someone's mouth nor are they caved in skulls or white blood with wriggling worms inside so I'm not sure how that has anything to do with his wife's treatments...especially with the fact he isn't a doctor or ME.
I agree, the angle with the car stealing makes even less sense now they added a new character into the mix. After having read the books long ago and the comics more recently I'm confused to where this is leading.
I liked the show, a bit more than the average rating it garnered here.
The cars part of the plot is to introduce the car dealer (Marlon from the wire) into the story I think as he plays more of a part in book 2 and 3.
I know they need to flush out a bit of back story but it slows down the story a lot. Del Toro has said books one and two will be the first two seasons and book three will be split into either two or three seassons depending on ratings
