Octavius Bishop was a patient man. At least he thought himself as such. For hundreds of years he waited below the surface of humanity silently influencing evil across the globe, hoping to bring the human race to its knees. As he waited one burning fact grew clear... humanity was resilient. Even Bishop's best efforts only made the rat-like swarms of mankind stronger. Now, having failed for hundreds of years, Octavius Bishop came to a conclusion. The saying "if you want something done right you should do it yourself" is a blatant falsehood. Octavius Bishop followed this proverb blindly and it had gotten him nowhere. He realized that in order to get what he so desperately wanted he would have to find others willing to fight with him.
Octavius' initial reaction to this realization was denial. He had never relied on others because they were foolish and weak. The very idea of a 'team-up' made Octavius scoff. There was no force on Earth or in Hell that could make him give in. Of course he had given the idea some brief thought and had eventually searched for those who were up to the task. All of his efforts were for naught. It was a foolish idea to begin with. So he gave up.
Another century passed, enemies died, and Octavius Bishop found himself pondering the idea once again. It was, in fact, what he was brooding about this very night. Earlier Octavius Bishop attempted to scry in a pool of an innocent's blood. In this century though, it was quite difficult to find an innocent.
As he disposed of the body Octavius felt a presence entering his domain. He was immediately enraged. Who would dare enter the lair of Octavius Bishop!? Octavius marched swiftly towards the direction of the intruder and stood, waiting. Eventually he felt the presence enter the room carefully. Octavius smirked. The intruder would soon learn what punishment awaited those who would dare trespass into Octavius Bishop's sanctuary. Octavius did not see the trespasser until they kicked a pebble. Immediately Octavius' eyes moved to the spot where the pebble had come from.
"Show yourself," Octavius demanded, "before I end your pitiful existence." His hand rose and energy crackled around it.
