Seriously. Emma Frost is one of the most complex and interesting characters in the Marvel Universe (IMHO). Can they PLEASE stop drawing her as a total tramp all the time???

No. I think equating how she dresses with her being a tramp is a personal association. She does seem to be pretty selective with who she's intimate with so I don't think "tramp" applies to her. Does this qualify as "slut shaming"?

He's still a lot more interesting to me than Miles Borealis or his hissy-fit throwing Ex-GF.

The Russian TANK of the X-Men. What's not to like about him ?

Eh, even when he is written to his utmost, he is still less interesting than a lot of the other X-Men, in my opinion. What initially made him interesting was that he was a farm boy that had little interest in super heroics and became bound to the X-Men through a familial connection.....that whole idea wore off like 30 years ago.

The fact that he is a tank can make him boring also, he just punches things and has no limitations evidently. Also, for a tank that has been around for 4 decades he has some pretty crap feats. Strong Guy is more impressive than he is.

Have you ever read Bloodlines? That four issue miniseries based on the Rasputin family actually opened up a lot of further questions about his family, their curse, their past, etc. What happened to that when Illyana came back? What about his son in the savage lands? There is a lot more to him and a lot that could be written. His lack of feats and the way a lot of writers job him I lay at the writers feet themselves.

As for Bendis, he's actively stated "I hate him like Indiana Jones hates snakes." You can't get much more blunt than that.

While I agree I'd rather not have him in a Bendis book (even in BOTA he killed him off very quickly) he does a disservice to the franchise in utterly ignoring the impact he has on many people including Magik, which should be a pretty heavy meeting between them considering everything that's happened there. If he chooses to ignore it, fine. He has said in interviews that there is going to be a meeting though (which violates his rule about talking about him on tumblr).

As for everyone who says he's boring, I don't think you really know the character.

@koays: i dont like the o5 new costumes they look like for space wear not going into the city and saving people. Also it would have been nice if jean's outfit looked like her mini skirt outfit and not look like one of the boys. Also the o5 design each one is different on the top and jean's looks like the phoenix

Wasn't the gist of it that Kitty designed their new costumes? Which would make sense for the unisex look. At least the all have a similar feel to them and aren't completely different from each other.

Maybe, but I don't think. I'm coming up an idea of what Bendis is making and where he want arrived with his run and if I am right, Cyclops will not be involved in any romantic relationship; for now at least.

Honestly, I'm ready for Cyke to be with no one for the foreseeable future. Just let him be the leader and shoot down ever semi-romantic thing that comes his way. No Jean, no Emma, no Tempus, no Dazzler, no person at all. I'd like to see him dealing with the guilt, anger, frustration, etc on his own without some woman rescuing him. I'd like to see him pull himself out of that and I'd love to see what's going on inside his head. Maybe more moments of him talking to himself or raging when he's alone and away from other people so he can remain in control in front of them. Yeah, he doesn't need to be in any romantic relationship, though I wouldn't mind seeing him actually opening up to regular friends.

Or maybe I'm alone in this.

Not that I think it would help him but... it's not just armor, not just a shell, he turns SOLID osmium alloy. Which I do wonder, if her going solid inside of him, wouldn't that hurt her as much as it would hurt him? I think it should, hence why she can't or shouldn't turn solid inside of a wall, it would kill her. Also why she can't breath while phased and can't see when she's inside of something. That being said, having them writing her being able to just phase a heart out of someone should never have been written. Now, phasing another object through someone and letting go, yeah I can see that causing a lot of damage without hurting her.

Still, why would these two ever fight to hurt each other? If he ever actually connected to her, he'd kill her and she can't harm him without killing him either.

I would expect it would be more a fight of words and emotions where she might win the argument but neither would emerge unscathed.

It kind of goes against what he X-Men are. If they wear uniforms, they tend to look like Xaviers privatized army, or some renegade militia. Them being able to wear different costumes helps them feel more like super heroes, and give them each their own identity.

Kind of like all the super villains out there eh?

Yup. Super villains and super heroes all wear garish outfits because they are comic book characters. However, there are groups of villains that do wear uniforms: Hydra, AIM, the Acolytes, and most of those guys are just perceived as henchmen. So, that kind of belabors my point--That if the X-Men wear matching uniforms they tend to look like Xaviers henchmen, or his private militia.

Or you know, Shield or the Fantastic Four or Police...

Wanda's got limits, mental attack is definetly one.

It was a little weird the way the X-Men all showed up. I mean i expected them to come and help, and then ban together for those exact reasons...but still the dialogue was clunky.

I get the feeling that the dialogue is deliberately clunky. Almost like, they're not themselves? Which could be hinting that the Skulls plans have been in the works for a while and now Red Onslaught has his fingers in their brains already. Remember, this is just the beginning of the ride, I expect there to be a lot of twists and turns coming up. Or maybe I'm overly optimistic.

@koays: It was probably the best issue of the whole series and that's really saying something when about 70% of the book was just a recap of x-men history.

What do you think a wake would be all about? Remembering the past and experiences, reminiscing over the good and bad. He couldn't well write oh, Wolverine's dead, sniff... next? It had to impact Kurt and I thought it was decently done. For anyone who is unaware of the past it makes more sense for him to do that.

How would YOU have written that?

@cattlebattle: I understand what you're saying and that was a great answer. However (and this is just my personal taste) I think it would be cool for the official X-Men to have higher-ranking uniforms (like colonels and liutenants have in the army) that make them stand out but also show them as part of a team. It would also be cooler (in my eyes at least) if all uniforms varied a bit from character to character.

I understand this won't happen, I'm just asking if anyone feels the same, specially considering uniforms promote teamwork and unity.
