The Shaft
Characters who have been treated horribly in comic books since 2000.
Characters who have been treated horribly in comic books since 2000.
The one who opened my eyes to how blind I was to DC's treatment of the Teen Titans and Titans-related characters.
How long before he starts wearing a skull on his chest?
Her death started Countdown. COUNTDOWN.
He disappeared for three years, came back to learn his wife and son were dead, was king of Atlantis for 15 minutes, and then killed by zombie ex-girlfriend.
Missing for three years, then we learned he and his mother were dead. Doesn't help that in his last appearance his dad referred to him as "[his] daughter".
Yeah, she's cool now, but because daddy dearest drugged her, and she gouged her eye out. Not to mention she was treated horribly by most of the other Titans, save for a few, and eventually left the team because of Wonder Girl.
What was the point of making her Liberty Belle and building her up as such for four years if they were going to bring her back to Jesse Quick?
Her head got punched off by Superboy-Prime. Now she's a joke.
She was around for five years, and in all that time the only characterization we ever got was "Hawk".
Why would anyone want her dead? She's charming, smart, honest, strong, caring, and could crush your head with one hand.
So, she just disappeared.
It took two years for us to figure out if him and his brother were still in continuity.
Her death marked the beginning of ultra violence being a more consistent trend when it comes to being a Titan.
Is he alive? Dead? He had both arms torn off now, where is he? Did we have to do the same to Roy Harper when we already had Risk?
His family was murdered. How much development did he have after that? One issue of Titans, one page in a Sinestro Corps tie-in, and one panel in Blackest Night: Titans.
I don't even need to say anything.
DC should've just let Peter David keep her, especially after Reign in Hell.
Not only was she destroyed by Superboy-Prime, she got sucked into Mordru. At least Mysa Nal brought him down a peg.
Ryan Choi. There are three Flashes, hundreds of Green Lanterns, there couldn't have been two Atoms?
Someone needs to just kill him. It'll be a saving grace at this point.
One of the better aspects of the Bloodlines crossover.
Another better aspect of the Bloodlines crossover.
Does anyone know what happened to her after the Titans East Special? Anyone at all?
Same as Little Barda above him.
Same as Little Barda and Lagoon Boy above him.
Owen Mercer. They kept flip-flopping between good and evil, so instead they just killed him.
Let the poor woman rest. Or stop mixing her with the Phoenix Force.
He's gone from to sane to crazy to sane to crazy to sane again.
Was there a POINT to this story?
Gail, come on. She's been around for four years, who is she?
A rug. Nice.
So are we ever going to find out who she is or what?
Oh, so she was possessed by Desaad! In Final Crisis. What's Countdown's excuse?
So... what was the point of making him the new Captain Marvel?
So... what was the point of making him the new keeper of the Rock of Eternity?
Last seen as an alien's sex slave. Nice
She ALSO disappeared.
What actual POINT was there to revamping him and Sargon after Reign of Hell?
What actual POINT was there to revamping him and Ibis after Reign of Hell?
Kendra Saunders. She died and Hawkgirl came back, only it was the original, Shiera Hall. Nice waste of potential there.
...
Responsible for the deaths of three people because she wanted her husband back. Nice.
I don't like him anymore than you do, but just stop picking at the wound while it heals? Please?
So, is she still in a coma or what?
What was he even DOING on that prison planet?
What was he even DOING on that prison planet?
Mentally unbalanced and in desperate need of psychiatric counseling, which she's never getting.
Losing his powers was the same as signing his death warrant.
Never even learned his real name.
Got a new costume we never got to see her use in action and was last seen being tortured.
Quickly turning into a cliche where the only thing writers can do with her is let her get kidnapped or turn her evil. Or both.
Can't really do anything other than get together and break up with Raven nowadays.
They might as well have killed him as well when they killed Sue. Of course, he died anyway.
This is my personal opinion, but I fail to see the appeal in the original Aquaman.
If DC had gone the route they did with him in Brave and the Bold the hook hand and the mutated look wouldn't have been necessary.
He can't really DO anything, can he?
