Decepticons in the aligned continuity

This is a list of the important Decepticons in the aligned continuity, a small bio and what they do. To make it on the list, they should have done something important enough in the constinuity to be mentioned. The list will focus more on the novels and games than the show although the show but the show will not be totally omitted. Order doesn't matter.

List items

  • "I WILL RETURN CYBERTRON, TO ITS FORMER GLORY!!!"

Originally known as D-16, D-16 came out of the Well of Allsparks when the Quintessons were invading Cybertron. The Quintessons were controlling the Well of Allsparks and deciding a Cybertronian job based on their appearance and didn't give them a name which robbed the Cybertronians of their personalities making them a step above mindless drones. After Cybertron entered the Age of Rust, the citizens became more restless and unruly, making gladiator games more popular even though they were illegal. Megatron was a very successful gladiator becoming famous for his fighting skills while developing a personality of his own. He named himself Megatronus, the original name of The Fallen, although his name would quickly change again to Megatron by the cheering crowds. As Megatron became more famous, he got the attention of an archivist name Orion Pax, who saw they shared similar ideals about Cybertron's current predicament. Megatron and Orion Pax went to the High Council to express their views but Orion Pax was named the next Prime and in anger, Megatron murdered Halogen (the Cybertronian who oversaw the hearing) and severed all ties with Orion Pax. Megatron and his army of Decepticons declared war on Cybertron hoping to return Cybertron to their vision of a just society. The Great War took a turn for the worst when Megatron discovered Dark energon, he had large amounts of it produced to help win his war, but when that wasn't enough, Megatron decided he should control the planet's energy supply. Megatron infected the core of Cybertron with Dark energon thinking he could control it but he didn't know that the core of Cybertron is Primus, and Dark energon isn't good for him. Primus had to shut down which caused the Autobots to leave. Megatron had a ship named the Nemesis to chase the Autobots through the stars and to find more energon for Cybertron. Megatron eventually found his way to Earth where he continued the battle against the Autobots.

  • "Soundwave superior. Autobots inferior."

Soundwave is the Decepticon's Communications officer, spy, hacker, he's multiple talents have made him the backbone of the Decepticons and the right hand both of Megatron. Soundwave crawled out of the Well of Allsparks during the Age of Origins and eventually made his way to join Sentinel Prime's council during the Age of Wrath. The council was tasked with finding any information they could on the Quintessons because Sentinel Prime didn't trust the invaders. The council had learned that Shockwave had deciphered the Quintesson language but didn't feel compelled to tell the council, Soundwave's spying abilities proved useful when he was able to get the information and present it to the council. The data Soundwave stole was sales figures, meaning that the Quintessons were planning to ship the Cybertronians off world as products. Soundwave helped organize the the plan for the Quintessons rebellion and was present on the council through the rust age. During the Age of Rust, the caste system was taking its toll on the Cybertronians and Soundwave wasn't having anymore of that, he demanded that the council abolish the caste system but the council wasn't sure how to do it effectively leaving Soundwave unsatisfied. He left the council and took a vow of silence believing that words won't produce results, actions will. Soundwave took up a job as a laborer when he met Megatron. The two formed a friendship and Soundwave followed Megatron wherever he went with extreme loyalty. Soundwave was with the Decepticons when the Great War broke out and spent his time during the war fighting, spying, or relaying communications. Soundwave left on the Nemesis with Megatron to follow the Autobots and followed Megatron to Earth to continue the battle against the Autobots.

  • Mini Cons are a group of smaller Cybertronians (usually at least taller than the average human)who are all descendants of Micronus Prime, the first Minicon. Minicons all act and think indepently, but they do form mutual partnerships with certain Cybertronians like Soundwave and Blaster.

  • Rumble is blue comic vine!!!!!!!! Get it right!!!!!!

"Get ready to crumble... before Rumble!"

Rumble is a Minicon who resides in Soundwave's chest and is one of Soundwave's most used Mini Cons. Rumble is often used for spying or combat, in combat he can use his big hands to shockwaves which can stun his opponent. Rumble was with Soundwave when they left on the Nemesis to follow Optimus Prime and the Autobots.

  • "Laserbeak. Eject."

Laserbeak is a Deception Minocon who resides in Soundwave's chest. Laserbeak usually goes on missions like spying on other Cybertronians but can still be helpful in combat due to his powerful laser attacks. Laserbeak was present in Soundwave when the Nemesis launched and was brought to Earth to fight with Soundwave against the Decepticons.

  • “Surely you do not wish to upend the caste system that is serving us so well and so stably right now.”

Rabat was a corrupt member of the High Council, representing Minicons, and was present at the Council meeting of Megatron and Orion Pax. After Halogen was killed, Ratbat sided with the Decepticons and was used a spy during the Great War. Ratbat left on the Nemesis to follow the Autobots on their journey through the stars.

  • "I find your reasoning to be...logical."

The Decepticon's head scientist, Shockwave is probably the smartest Cybertronian to ever exist. Shockwave talents were first recognized during the Age of Wrath when he was the first person to decipher the Quintesson's language but didn't want to help the Cybertronian High Council. Shockwave continued his research through the Golden Age and the Age of Rust when he was confronted by a Gladiator. Shockwave sided with Megatron early on because he would be allowed to continue his research and contribute to the war effort. Shockwave was able to create and perfect combiner technology (having Cybertronians combine into a larger and more powerful Cybertronian) with Devastator and Bruticus. Shockwave would continue with more experiment during the war which such as experimenting on captured Autobots or finding inspiration on a new experiment. After Megatron infected the core of Cybertron with dark energon, Insecticons hives left the depths of Cybertron and came up to the surface to find new energon sources but were put under Shockwave's command after defeating them in combat. Shockwave would rediscover Spacebridge technology which allowed him to get new inspiration on his newest Autobot prisoners, the Lightning Strike Coalition. The LSC were experimented on in an attempt in creating Cybertronian super soldiers, and Shockwave succeeded by making the Dinobots. When Megatron left on the Nemesis to follow the Autobots, Shockwave was out in charge of Cybertron and the remaining Decepticons on Cybertron, he tasked with eliminating the remaining Autobots while trying to rebuild Cybertron.

  • The Seekers are a group of Cybertronians capable of flight who were stationed at Trypticon station under Starscream. The Seekers remained loyal to Starscream when he sided with the Decepticons and were helpful in helpful in the Great War due to the air superiority the Decepticons have over the Autobots.

  • "All hail...Starscream!"

Starscream is Seeker who sided with the Decepticons during the Great War and has ambitions to become the new Decepticon leader. Prior to the Great War, Starscream was stationed at Trypticon station where he oversaw numerous experiments and learned many secrets on the station. When the Great War broke out Starscream sided with the Decepticons after seeing the cowardice of Sentinel Prime and was promoted to Air Commander of the Seekers. Starscream quickly went to capture Trypticon station to guard its secrets, but Megatron eventually found out that the station can produce dark energon and mass produced the substance. Starscream and his seekers reactivated the Geosynchronous Bridge to give Trypticon Station a stable power supply which could mass produce dark energon. Even though Starscream was following Megatron's orders, he still tried to become the leader but failed in his attempts. He was on board the Nemesis it launched to follow the Autobots through the stars. Starscream followed Megatron and the Autobots to earth where he was still the Air Commander of the Seekers.

  • "Don't think. Just do it" And when he gets the chance, he pushes people down stairs.

A Decepticon Seeker who isn't the smartest Cybertronian around (he's dumb)but an effective fighter nonetheless. Skywarp was a Seeker working under Starscream in Trypticon station before the Great War broke out. Skywarp sided with the Decepticons when he saw Sentinel Prime acting cowardly, like Starscream. Skywarp became one of Starscreams lieutenants during the war and often accompanied him missions like reactivating the Geosynchronous Bridge or attempting to recover Trypticon body. Skywarp was aboard the Nemesis when it launched to follow Optimus Prime through the stairs.

  • "My scans indicate that…"

A Decepticon Seeker who is a scientist first, warrior second but he still is an effective Seeker in battle. Thundercracker was a Seeker working under Starscream in Trypticon station before the Great War broke out. Thundercracker sided with the Decepticons when he saw Sentinel Prime acting cowardly, like Starscream. Thundercracker became one of Starscreams lieutenants during the war and often accompanied him missions like reactivating the Geosynchronous Bridge or attempting to recover Trypticon's body. Thundercracker was aboard the Nemesis when it launched to follow Optimus Prime through the stars.

  • "Any leader has to be an improvement over you!"

A Decepticon Seeker who isn't afraid to stand up to, or insult Starscream when he does something stupid. Slipstream was a Seeker working under Starscream in Trypticon station before the Great War broke out. Slipstream sided with the Decepticons when he saw Sentinel Prime acting cowardly, like Starscream. Slipstream became one of Starscreams lieutenants during the war and often accompanied him missions like attacking Omega Supreme to help Megatron defeat the Guardian. Slipstream was aboard the Nemesis when it launched to follow Optimus Prime through the stars.

  • "No one is perfect, Starscream, but like his departed twin, Dreadwing understands honor."

A Decepticon Seeker with strong loyalty to his leader, Megatron. Dreadwing fought in the Great War and during the Great Shutdown, he left for space hunting down Autobots, specifically Wreckers. Dreadwing comes to Earth when he senses the death of his twin, Skyquake to join the Decepticons to defeat the Autobots.

  • "I believe only two things: The Decepticons will rule Cybertron, and Megatron will rule the Decepticons!"

A gladiator like Megatron, he is larger and stronger than the average Cybertronian but nowhere near as intelligent. Lugnut became loyal to Megatron when he saw him fighting in the arenas, he quickly sided with Megatron and his Decepticons. Lugnut fought in many battle in the Great War and was aboard the Nemesis when it launched to follow the Autobots through the stars.

  • "When you extinguish my spark, make it hurt. You know I would extend that courtesy to you."

A cruel Decepticon warrior who loves torturing her victims, has an influence over Insecticons and makes sure to look out for herself in any situation. Airachnid fought in the Great War and on a mission to find out Autobot intelligence, Airachnid killed Tailgate, Arcee's partner, as a way to get Arcee to give up the information but it led to a mutual hate between the two. After the Exodus from Cybertron, Airachnid starting hunting indigenous species on random planets keeping them as prizes until she landed on Earth where she rejoined the Decepticons to fight against the Autobots.

  • Insecticons are a subgroup of Cybertronians that live in the deep underground of Cybertron. Insecticons are mostly animalistic in nature but there are a few higher intelligence levels such as Hardshell, Sharpshot, and Kickback. Insecticons survive by eating energon consuming any matter they can find, they reproduce by cloning themselves but their clone lose intelligence. Insecticons lived peacefully in the depths of Cybertron but when Megatron infected the core with dark energon, energon became scarce so the Insecticon hive came up to the surface to find more energon. The Insecticons were found by Shockwave who put them under his command and used them as his personal army. Insecticons stayed behind on Cybertron with Shockwave when the Nemesis launched to follow the Autobots.

  • "You wouldn't cheat us. You need us to get rid of the Autobots."

One of the 3 leaders of the Insecticons, Hardshell came up to Cybertron's surface and sided with the Decepticons like the rest of the Insecticons when Cybertron's core became infected. Hardshell is the least animistic out of the Insecticon trio because he prefers fight with combat suits or advanced weaponry as opposed to fighting with his bare hands. Shockwave found Hardshell in the ruins of Crystal City and defeated him in combat. Instead of killing the Insecticon leaders, they sided with the Decepticons and quickly proved their usefulness. Hardshell was part of the Insecticon swarm that took down the Lightning Strike Coalition which led to them being experimented on and becoming the Dinobots. When the Grimlock broke out, Hardshell used his combat suit to test Grimlock's new abilities but was defeated. Hardshell survived his injuries and stayed behind on Cybertron with Shockwave after the Decepticons left.

  • "Now, taste the lightning, Autobot fool!"

One of the 3 leaders of the Insecticons, Sharpshot came up to Cybertron's surface and sided with the Decepticons like the rest of the Insecticons when Cybertron's core became infected. Sharpshot is considered a textbook sadist by Shockwave's observation, Sharpshot loves torturing his prey with electricity and gets sick pleasure while torturing other creatures. Shockwave found Sharpshot in the ruins of Crystal City and defeated him in combat. Instead of killing the Insecticon leaders, they sided with the Decepticons and quickly proved their usefulness by escorting Shockwave and the Dark Spark to Kaon. Sharpshot was part of the Insecticon swarm that took down the Lightning Strike Coalition which led to them being experimented on and becoming the Dinobots. When the Grimlock broke out, Sharpshot was torturing Snarl with electricity to push Grimlock's buttons but this didn't work. Grimlock was able to free Snarl and get his hands on Sharpshot which only ended with Sharpshot getting severely injured. It is unknown if Sharpshot survived his injuries or if he was put into stasis-lock, but I am assuming he survived his injuries (they can't kill of one of the original Insecticons, right?) which would mean he stayed behind on Cybertron with Shockwave's forces.

  • "I remember you Grimlock. Do you remember me? Me? Me?"

One of the 3 leaders of the Insecticons, Kickback came up to Cybertron's surface and sided with the Decepticons like the rest of the Insecticons when Cybertron's core became infected. Kickback is the psychopath of the group due to his voice quirk (he repeats himself self self self) and having zero remorse for the people he kills. Shockwave found Kickback in the ruins of Crystal City and defeated him in combat. Instead of killing the Insecticon leaders, they sided with the Decepticons and quickly proved their usefulness. Kickback was part of the Insecticon swarm that took down the Lightning Strike Coalition which led to them being experimented on and becoming the Dinobots. When the Grimlock broke out, Kickback was luring Grimlock to a chamber of the Insecticon hive so Grimlock could fight the Insecticon bruisers to test his strength. After the bruisers were defeated, Kickback tried to escape but was crushed with a door from behind by Slug (awesome G1 reference!). Kickback survived his injuries and stayed behind on Cybertron with Shockwave after the Decepticons left.

  • "You...ruined my paint job! Prepare for surgery!"

A Decepticon car and medic with a bit of an ego, he looks out for himself first, then the Decepticons second. Knock Out mostly likely fought in the Great War in some capacity and served as a medic due to reliability. Knock Out came to Earth to serves Megatron and finish off the Autobots once and for all. Knock Out wasn't too fond of humans but fell in love with their cultures (kinda like Jazz), he was an automobile enthusiast and like other parts of their culture such as movies and racing. Knock Out served the Decepticons loyally until he decides to join the "winning team" and sides with the Autobots at the end of the series.

  • The Stunticons are a group of Decepticon vehicles who can combine to form Menasor. Although majority of the Stunticons have yet to have a major role in the Aligned Continuity, the Stunticons have appeared in various games as playable characters possibly hinting that they could play an important role later in the series. Similar thing happened in War for Cybertron with the Combaticons, they had some Combaticons playable in multiplayer and in the sequel, you could play as the whole team and the combiner of the Combaticons.

  • "Megatron... with all due respect... ARE YOU INSANE?!? Omega Supreme's right outside!"

A slightly paranoid Decepticon and member of the Stunticons (if they exist). Breakdown served in the Great War under the Decepticons and fought in various missions such as locating the Omega Key and fighting Omega Supreme. Although Breakdown did help Megatron complete their mission, he was always wary of Megatron's because there were some orders that didn't seem like a good idea. This annoys Megatron because how dare someone defy his orders! It is unknown if Breakdown left on the Nemesis with the rest of the Decepticons but it it known that he came to Earth with Knock Out to serve the Decepticons again.

  • The Combaticons act as a task force for the Decepticons due to their reliability and effectiveness. The Combaticons are an effective team due to their diversity in abilities and drive to complete their mission.

  • "Combaticons! Combine into Bruticus!"

A Decepticon who is also the strategist and leader of the Combaticons. Onslaught, like the rest of the Combaticons, were used as test subjects in the first combiner experiment to form Bruticus. Onslaught fought in the Great War carrying out many missions as either Bruticus or himself. Onslaught was the strategist for the plan to take the Autobot transport which ended up succeeding (this is really impressive due to the fact Starscream did a good job nearly screwing everything up). Onslaught boarded the Nemesis but was shot of the Ark during a battle with the Decepticons, his fate remains unknown. I assume he survived because it is possible, they could've had Vortex and Blastoff carry the three Combaticons that couldn't fly. Or Bruticus could've survived the crash but was severely injured and would have had to be put into stasis-lock by Shockwave who didn't feel like repairing them.

  • "Real Decepticons roll on treads."

A Decepticon whose rage is well known, he uses his hate for the Autobots to fuel his rage and fuel the rage for Bruticus. Brawl, like the rest of the Combaticons, were used as test subjects in the first combiner experiment to form Bruticus. Brawl fought in the Great War carrying out many missions as either Bruticus or himself. Brawl was one of the Decepticons who accompanied Megatron on his mission to retake Trypticon station and served as a Decepticon ground leader in the Great War. Brawl was used as the artillery to take down the bridge to re-route the Autobot transport, he later helped form Bruticus to take control of the Autobot transport. Brawl boarded the Nemesis but was shot of the Ark during a battle with the Decepticons, his fate remains unknown. I assume he survived because it is possible, they could've had Vortex and Blastoff carry the three Combaticons that couldn't fly. Or Bruticus could've survived the crash but was severely injured and would have had to be put into stasis-lock by Shockwave who didn't feel like repairing them.

  • "Make deals, now war."

As his name suggest, Swindle is a con man and prefers making a quick buck than fighting in a war which isn't as profitable. Swindle, like the rest of the Combaticons, were used as test subjects in the first combiner experiment to form Bruticus. Swindle fought in the Great War carrying out many missions as either Bruticus or himself. During the final days of the Great War, Swindle was tasked with escorting Shockwave with the Dark Spark for Megatron. During a plan to take back energon from the Autobots, Swindle was tasked with taking out any Autobot scouts who might give away his position during the attack on the Autobot transport in Kalis. Swindle boarded the transport when it took flight and took out the main artillery guns to help form Bruticus to take control of the Autobot transport. Swindle boarded the Nemesis but was shot of the Ark during a battle with the Decepticons, his fate remains unknown. I assume he survived because it is possible, they could've had Vortex and Blastoff carry the three Combaticons that couldn't fly. Or Bruticus could've survived the crash but was severely injured and would have had to be put into stasis-lock by Shockwave who didn't feel like repairing them.

  • "Hang on to your hats! It's gonna get a little windy!"

Vortex serves as the Decepticon interrogator due to his flying stunts which leave Autobots fearing for their lives. Vortex, like the rest of the Combaticons, were used as test subjects in the first combiner experiment to form Bruticus. Vortex fought in the Great War carrying out many missions as either Bruticus or himself. Vortex was given the mission to help take out a bridge which would re-route the Autobot transport. Vortex lowered the armor on the bridge supports which Brawl then destroyed. Vortex accompanied the other Combaticons to attack the transport and he later helped form Bruticus to take control of the Autobot transport. Vortex boarded the Nemesis but was shot of the Ark during a battle with the Decepticons, his fate remains unknown. I assume he survived because it is possible, they could've had Vortex and Blastoff carry the three Combaticons that couldn't fly. Or Bruticus could've survived the crash but was severely injured and would have had to be put into stasis-lock by Shockwave who didn't feel like repairing them.

  • "Really. My ionic blaster is more sophisticated than any of your crude weapons."

An isolated Decepticon who sometimes has to go on missions by himself into the upper reaches of Cybertron's atmosphere, Blast Off is still dedicated to the Decepticon cause and still loves to kill Autobots. Blast Off, like the rest of the Combaticons, were used as test subjects in the first combiner experiment to form Bruticus. Blast Off fought in the Great War carrying out many missions as either Bruticus or himself. Blast Off was on the mission to retake the Autobot transport, he scouted ahead to make a clear path for Vortex and Brawl. Blast Off rejoined the other Combaticons on the attack of the transport and he later helped form Bruticus to take control of the Autobot transport. Blast Off boarded the Nemesis but was shot of the Ark during a battle with the Decepticons, his fate remains unknown. I assume he survived because it is possible, they could've had Vortex and Blastoff carry the three Combaticons that couldn't fly. Or Bruticus could've survived the crash but was severely injured and would have had to be put into stasis-lock by Shockwave who didn't feel like repairing them.

  • "Bruticus online. Ready for action!"

Bruticus is the combined form of Onslaught, Brawl, Swindle, Vortex, and Blast Off. Bruticus was Shockwave's first combiner experiment which proved a success but Bruticus was difficult to control at first. After the completion of Devastator, Bruticus received some tune ups and was unleashed on the battlefield leveling armies and cities in his path proving to be an effective combiner. Bruticus was unleashed on the Autobot transport in the final days before the Exodus giving the Decepticons a very large energon supply. Bruticus was formed during the battle between the Ark and the Nemesis and was sent to destroy the Ark. Bruticus was shot off the Ark and his fate remains unknown. I assume he survived because it is possible, they could've had Vortex and Blastoff carry the three Combaticons that couldn't fly. Or Bruticus could've survived the crash but was severely injured and would have had to be put into stasis-lock by Shockwave who didn't feel like repairing them.

  • The Constructicons has two meanings, the first meaning in the cast of Constructicons in the caste system. These Constructicons are tasked with what their name suggests, construction. The second meaning is the combiner group of Constructions that combine into Devastator.

  • "Nothing defeats the Devastator, nothing!"

Devastator is the combined form of Scrapper, Mixmaster, Hook, Long Haul, Scavenger, and Bonecrusher. Devastator was created after the failure of Bruticus and was perfection. Devastator was dumb enough to take orders without hesitation and a force to be reckoned with due to his size and strength. Devestator caused alot of trouble for the Autobots until he attacked Tagan Heights, the Wreckers were able to stall Devastator until the Autobots could build Defensor and defeat Devastator. The Constructicons left on the Nemesis to follow the Autobots through the stars.

  • "You cannot stop me, Autobots. I am... Trypticon. I am... your death."

Trypticon station was constructed during the Golden Age, Trypticon station was used for research that was deemed too dangerous to be conducted on Cybertron. Experiments with Dark Energon proved the Cybertronians suspicions proved correct when a lab accident destroyed a large portion of the station. Over time, Trypticon station gained sentience due the exposure to Dark Energon and Starscream came to be the leader of the station. When the Great War broke out and Starscream sided with the Decepticons, The Decepticons quickly recaptured the station to protect its secrets. Megatron found out its secrets from Starscream such as the Dark Energon and Trypticon's sentience. Megatron ordered to reactivate the Geosynchronous Bridge to power the manufacture of Dark energon. The Autobots were able to board the station and knock Trypticon out of orbit by destroying his conversion cog. Trypticon was heavily damaged from his fall and battle with the Autobots and his body was left to rust. During the final days before the launch for the Ark, Starscream tried to recapture the remains of Trypticon but was thwarted by Jetfire and the Aerialbots. Megatron and Soundwave infiltrated Iacon and found Trypticon body to use a ship to find more energon. Trypticon permanently became the Nemesis and was the ship the Decepticons use to follow the Autobots through the stars.
