I don't really dig the all-black suits, I like the classic blue cowl + cape, yellow belt and the yellow oval symbol. George Clooney's is hands down THE worst.

My favourites are the Hush batsuit, The Animated Series and No Man's Land.

Giving Batman powers would ruin the character.

his power would have to be like slightly toughened skin or faster heeling system which would for me better help explain how he keeps being batman when he keeps getting these massive damages to his body in like every batman comic

I agree with Blue Arrow. It's not so much a power but more an endurance and stability sort of thing.

@KainScion: Me neither, but I will reserve judgement until I've seen it. If it's all Bane and only Bats right at the climactic finale (which there will undoubtedly be, then that's a great shame in my book. A small thing for me is that he changed his costume in the second (and it differs quite radically) so why would he not enhance it further in this one?

Agreed. You can't really judge a movie until you've seen it. :)

Well she was a bit ditzy and the Joker can easily manipulate people so put them both together and we see how she fell for him. I think it's a shame how the new 52 reboot completely changed Harley Quinn. :(

I thought Keaton resembled Batman better than Bale, Gary Oldman looked almost identical to Gordon in Year One and both Jokers were alright. Both Jokers were like the Joker from the comics: Burton's Joker was sadistic, "funny" and crazy whereas Nolan's was just plain psycho and insane. Remember that the Joker is meant to be somewhat funny (hence the name) so Burton's resembled it more.

It's hard to compare them since each has some points that are better than the other. Both movies were good.

They should do a Batman film that is actually based of events from the comics/makes sense. It's sad that non-comic book readers believe that Harvey Dent became Two-Face because of the Joker, etc. Batman: Year One (animated movie) was good as it followed the comic.

The reason Batman lasted so long and is still successful today is because it has so many well written characters (heroes and villains), i.e. Batman, the four Robins, Batgirl, Gordon + all the villains. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not a Flash fan but judging from the 52 reboot Flash doesn't have that many characters etc. BTAS had a different character in each episode (some repeating, yes) which made it successful.

I really don't see any other character beating Batman or Superman (or Green Lantern, haven't watched it but heard it's good) in terms of television shows unless they get the much needed publicity and emphasis. The other DC characters need to be made more popular in order for a television show to succeed. I can see the possibility of it happening but the characters need to be more popular not just among the comic book fans but also television fans.

Well he has learned and honed may different skills thanks to his travels and how long he has been alive as well as the knowledge he has acquired. I definitely believe he is more skilled and knowledgeable than Batman but Batman is stronger.

First and foremost great article and difference of perspectives.

On the topic of Batman killing the Joker, I am against it. Batman would not be the same if he killed the Joker, the character would be broken and unrepairable.

I know it's his duty to protect people, but killing the Joker would protect all those people he killed. I suppose it's not his duty to determine who lives and dies, he's a vigilante and the decision should be left with the authority. His job is to protect without killing. He knows that the moment he kills someone who stoops down to their level and will never be able to be rid of the guilt.

makes a few good points a few posts above me. It's not his character, Batman cannot kill no matter who it is.

I suppose it is the inevitable: Batman will never kill the Joker. I suppose the idea of Arkham's "revolving doors" could be a reflection of our society and legal systems, how innocents are jailed while the guilty are free to walk.
