Christian Bale's performance as Batman is spot on. No actor can actually perfectly portray their comic counterpart, so they do it their way with their own little twist and Bale does it perfectly. I don't what's wrong with the voice, do you want him to sound like a someone else or something? The idea was that Bale was supposed to voice Batman and he can only do a limited amount of voices. Supporting cast is fine. Great actors, great roles, and great performances. Heath Ledgers portrayal of the Joker was greatly over-exaggerated. He did an outstanding job, but he wasn't praised like a deity until he died. With or without Ledger, The Dark Knight was an amazing movie. How do you compare Bane to Joker? Joker gets his ass kicked on a daily basis. Bane, on the other hand, broke Bats back. In my opinion, this movie's going to be as good, if not, better than The Dark Knight. Your analysis is really off.

I must be the only person who didn't hate Bale's voice. Yeah, fine, Conroy is undoubtedly the best Batman, but I didn't mind Bale's voice. Only thing I was worried about with this movie was Hathaway as Catwoman, and that fear is slowly melting away.

Also, I don't think anybody questions why TDK was awesome. Heath Ledger is the best Joker, no contest. He stole the show.

You're not. The voice is a smart way for Bruce to disguise himself.

There were times when it was misused, but it's not a big deal.

See, I didn't hate the Bale-Bat-voice, but I didn't love it either. I get why he does it, though... Still, it was inappropriate for quite a few scenes in TDK.

Now if he finds some middle-ground between the growl and the whisper, it'll be much better.

@Night Thrasher: As far as the villains go, it's not about if they beat Batman is how they draw us in. Ledger's Joker was amazing. You almost understood him (as much as you can understand a mentally unstable anarchist). He commanded scenes (why so serious?). My whole point wasn't really about Bale it's more about what's surrounding Bale. If you took Ledger out of The Dark Knight I don't think it's an amazing movie. It may still be a good movie, but definitely not a great movie. I really don't think Bane is going to be as commanding on screen as Joker was.
